I started playing this ball when it was first introduced. I beleive, without a doubt, this is this best ball for the money. I have played many different brands of ball in the last thirty four years, and this has been the best performer overall. Long off the driver, and stops fairly well on the greens. It does not stop or draw back like a ProV1, but is more durable. I find that playing the Exception on par four, and fives, and the ProV1 on par threes works great. That way the ProV1's last much longer.

A very high quality golf ball. Very soft, very long and consistent. Many people don't realize Pinnacles are produced in the same factory at Titleist as they are both owned and operated by Acushnet. At local golf shops for $17.99 per doz. you'd be better to go with the Titleist DT Solo for $19.99, they are much softer and thus have much better feel.

The Pinnacle Exception is a great ball. It is long and very soft. I tend to fight a slice/fade on some days but not since I started using this ball. The Exception flies straight for me. I'm a short knocker but this ball has given me extra yards. I'd don't mind if my playing partners can hit it farther because I have a new found confidence that my second or third shots will be from the short grass.

I have always been a believer in buying the best balls at whatever price. Up to now, that has been the Pro V1x. As much golf as I play, I was looking for an everyday ball that I didn't care about my irons chewing them up, or just plain sacrificing one to the course. I played the Nike Soft Ditance, Callaway, and every other ball that promised to be "just like the Pro V1x" Well, there is not ball just like the ProV1x, BUT, the Pinnacle Exception is as close as I've found for everyday play. In side by side Drives, hitting both balls off the tee baox, I found the Exception to be just as long, sometimes, a few yards longer (Average drive 284) and off the irons, the same soft feel I'm used to.
In fact, I was going to write a letter to Pinnacle to compliment them on the Exception ball, and guess what? The address on the Pinnacle Exception box is the exact same address as on the ProV1x box....Acushnet Golf in Fairhaven MA. Coincidence? Either way, bit are great balls but the Exception, at $17.99/12 is my everyday play/practice ball.

My usual playing partner is one of those real 'ball snobs', who will only play Pro V's. Whereas I am open minded and will try anything, especially if it's a better bang for your buck. I got a box of these for Xmas, and I finally got to play them on my first round 3 weeks ago. Too put it lightly, I was blown away at how soft these felt off the irons. And believe me when I say this, because I play with Mizuno MP14 blades. Last season I played the Nike One's Platinum because they were being unloaded cheaply. I also tried the Taylor Made TP Reds, and the Maxfli Black Max. For half the price or less these "Exceptions" are a sure winner. They fly far and have decent check on full iron shots. Last weekend, I decided to also try out the Callaway HX Hot because of all the rave reviews from Golf Magazine and Golf Digest. Sadly, I would have to say these Callies are HX NOT. They felt like the typical cheapo 'Rock' balls. I wasted $8 on that sleeve, they're nowhere nearly as soft as the 'Exceptions'. In conclusion, if you want a great ball, that flies far, the best bang for your buck, and isn't a rock, get the 'Exception'. Trust me.

I played a couple of sleeves of Nike Power Soft and liked them. Thought I should give the Exception a try before making a final decision. Didn’t find much to distinguish between them, although the Exception seems a little more crisp on impact. Both balls are excellent on the green, with true roll and good feel. However, I shot ten shots lower than average with the Exception (a 75), so the decision has been made. I don’t find it exceptionally long, but mistakes seem to be minimized. This is my ball until they stop making it.

This is a great ball! Found one on the course and played it. Comes off the driver hot, plays well off the short irons with moderate spin, and putts soft into the bargain. At my skill level I can't play any of the high end balls any better and I have played them all. Golf Galaxy sells them for about $12.00 per doz. which makes them a tremendous bargain. Other Pinnacles I have played are about like rocks giving distance but not much else. This ball is in a class by itself. I have definitely found my ball.

I have to agree with the other reviews this ball is long off the driver , & feels good off the irons, pretty good around the greens & I thought it putted beautifully.
The second time I played it I had only 13 putts on the front 9.
Very reasonably priced & durable, what more can you ask for .
I have found my new ball & am very happy with it.

Good-
They are long off the driver. Don't think you swing to fast for them either, I can swing in the 120's regularly. They are soft feeling and they will spin well off your irons. They also don't suck back like pro v's, they just sit down nicly. They are also durable enough to handle full wedge shots.

Bad-
People look at you funny when you tell them you play with a pinnacle. Your pockets will we loaded down with the extra money you saved ($12 a dozen at Dick's).

Customer Service

They will give you a free sleeve if you manage to cut one of these balls. (you won't be able to)
