How can a ball possibly satisfy everyone? I don't know, but I have yet to meet a person who isn't extremely impressed with this ball. They feel great, they go great. The only way Titleist could make them better is to prevent you from losing them. That's where the price comes in; $4.50/ball?!? I know golfs a rich man's sport but that's ridiculous. Hence my value rating. Customer Service For $55/dozen they should come out to the course and give you a post round backrub. I haven't seen that yet. Similar Products Used: None I've seen |

Just like all the other fanatics i love it also. They need to make a little bit softer Pro V1 or something like it. For firmer greens. There's too much to list and everybody's done it already. Durable, Cuddling, and The John Daly saying "Grip it and Rip It", as far as you would like. Similar Products Used: Everything |

The durability is amazing. I can remember ripping only one cover, ever. They do scuff occasionally on very hard, descending wedge shots, but given that such a shot produces excessive spin (see below), even that is a rarity. No other premium ball I've played has the durability of the ProV family. Distance is the same for me as with the other premium balls. I played the professional before the current crop of multi-layer balls came out. I've found all the new balls to be similar distance wise off the driver in calm conditions (all 10-15 yds longer than the professional was). I notice a difference in windy conditions though. Of all the current premium balls, I've found the ProV1 to be the least consistent in the wind. It baloons into the wind, and floats forever downwind. Now this makes for some eyepopping distances downwind, but I'd rather have consistent distances than record setting ones. The ProV1* is much more consistant in the wind. The HX Red is the most stable for me in the wind, with the A10 second, and the Apex right there with the V1*. As I said above, the spin on the ProV1 can be excessive. I found myself changing the way I played my short game to compensate for the rediculous spin. It makes for some nice finesse shots around the green, but cost me too many shots from the fairway (there often isn't room to hit the ball 15 feet behind the pin to account for the drawback). All in all a wonderfull ball, better in every way from the previous generation, but not up to par in over all playability compared to the newer balls. I attest to the previous review...this ball has impoved my game and the only tangible result observed right away is the 10 yards of carry with my Irons and 15 - 20 yards with the driver. Yet my score for the last three rounds has dropped by 5 strokes. This ball is also very durable played 54 hole with the same ball before I last it. I've read all the post - good and bad - concerning this ball. All I know about it is that I play better with this ball than I do any other ball on the market. Maybe I'm a marketing victim that believes the hype. Maybe I'm just more confident that I can hit this ball because I am supposed to be able to. I've been trying out the Laddie the Noodle and the Top-Flite Super Feel to see if the low compression balls help my game and they do - to some extent. But when I put the ProV1 in play my game makes a quantum leap. I don't care if it's something in the ball or if it's purely psychological because the end result of either is that I play better. As far as the "Drop and Stop" line - this ball does exactly that. I look for my pitch mark after every shot and this ball is never very far away from it. Are they worth the money? Probably not for everybody. For me they are because I play better with them. This ball is now the only one in my bag. |

Recently purchasing the 392 after playing Strata Tour Professional and Tour Ultimate which I have been please with after dropping my last several games into the low 80's. I was curious if I could get greater distance out of the tee box. The flight proved to be a much lower trajectory with less spin on the drives, however, the drop and stop on green stops i feel are no more forgiving than that of the Strata Tour Ultimate. What get's me the most was the trajectory and distance on the long irons...simply incredible! Tight ball flight, super straight, made me feel the ball did what the swing told it to do. My long irons have been touch and go but not since I have played this ball the past couple of games. Putting.....great. |

Mick may be correct, but if you check this link (granted it is by Maxfli) you will see that the V1 is at the bottom of the list for both distance and spin. Even so, it is still a good ball. "Best" is determined by the player. |

I started playing this ball last summer and fell in love immediately. i shot 2 under my first round with it. this ball combined with cleveland rtg wedges is deadly. this ball does everything well. you get great control and it's as long as a top-flite. i think the most amazing thing about this ball is that you get amazing durability along with the distance and spin. that's great for me cuz i rarely lose balls. i can play one of these balls for at least 2 rounds and sometimes as much as 4 rounds. i play 30-40 rounds a year so a dozen will last me a year. still they are kind of pricey(especially if you frequently lose balls) so i've tried other balls that claimed to be as good as the pro-v1. the maxfli a-10 is a good ball. it's a little longer and just as durable but it doesn't spin quite as good. i'm spoiled by the spin of the pro-v1 and i can't settle for less even if another ball gives more distance. i just won a sleeve of nxt tour balls so i'm curious to see how they play but i really doubt that they will measure up. i've played the maxfli revolution and it's actually pretty close. but i feel like i the pro-v1 is gonna give me my best chance to play my best. good luck.
