My best advise is to make an early tee time and be very patient, because this golf ball has made this game very slow. And if you are a golfer you know what I am talking about!!

Played my first round with these the other day and shot 39 for the front nine. I usually average 42-45 for nine. What I noticed with the V-1 was that it went very straight even in windy conditions. I usually aim down the right side of the fairway for my draw, but the Pro V-1 produced straight shots every time. I used the same ball for 9 holes and it was still in good condition. I played a Nike Tour Accuracy in the previous round to this one and was very displeased since after 1 hole the ball had sheared beyond playability. The Pro V-1 is pricey but well worth it for the 70-80's player who is looking to improve their game.

I usually shoot in the upper 70's and enjoy playing different balls to see their performance. If you name it, I've probably played it. All this being said, my expecatations were for the Pro-V1 to have similar distance to the Titleist Tour-Distance ball, with the green side spin somewhere just short of the Titleist Professional. I was surprised this was just not the case. I hit Pro-V1 side by side with the Tour Distance and they are almost the same ball. The Pro-V1 holds it's spin off of irons better, and marginally more distance off of the driver. It did "drop and stop", but in comparison the Tour-Dist released about five feet on average in the middle irons. I'm not good enough to where this distinction matters. What shocked me was the lack of greenside control in comparison to the Professional and Strata Tour Professional. I didn't expect it to be the same, but I did expect it to be in the same zip code. I play on fast greens and learned pretty quickly that this ball will not check up and "dance" like the Professional. In fact, it release as much as I expect rock-hard distance balls to. That's fine if it's what you expect, but for $40 a dozen it's not worth it. Why do the pros play it? It putts fantastically and gives Tour-Distance performance with good spin on full shots. Is it the second coming? No way. If this ball gave the distance it does and had the Professional's short game control then I would buy it in a heartbeat. In reality it is going to be 10-15 yards further on drives than the Professional, but it is the usual trade-off. If you need stopping power and short game finesse more than you need distance, go with the Professional. If you need distance with decent stopping power into greens, go with the Tour-Distance. If you want to wow your buddies with your spending power, go with the Pro-V1. It's a darn good ball, just not the end-all be-all ball.

I really don't understand all the hoopla! I played these balls back to back for 9 holes with my titleist professional. My professional was just as long, as well as having a more penetrating trajectory. I could also have more wedge control with the professional. My biggest gripe is..... I hit he these buggers to damn high!!!
I have talked to many people and about 60-70% agree with me.I also compared this to the precept lady, and the precept lady also beat out the proV1. I just guess all those pro's got people to excited.

I was going to buy these becuase of the price. I was playing the other day and found 3!!! of these balls! So....I hit 'em!! GREAT BALL! I usually play Revolution 90's and these felt similar of the tee. They do seem to stay on line better though. They chio and putt as good as it gets too!!! The perfect ball!! I may even buy some now!!!

I Played a couple of rounds with the same ball. The ball has good durabilty which is a plus, but lets face it, how many golfers get more than a round or two out of a ball. I have been playing Stata pro tour and although there is a bit more distance from the V1, I prefer the softer feel of the Strata. Clearly a good ball, but not worth the hefty price tag in my opinion.

This ball is more than the HYPE. You bring it into the greens and it stops on a dime. You hit it off the driver and it seems to never come down. Hit a bad liner and it rolls forever. THIS BALL IS ALL THAT AND MORE

This ball is superior to other balls that I have played recently. I've easily gained 20-30 yards on my drives consistently-no matter how I orient the ball on the tee. When I mis-hit, I don't get that much side spin to loose the ball out of play. It generally stays in the rough in play. I get back-spin on my short irons and wedge shots quite often now. Most importantly, this ball has enabled me to shoot in the 70's more than once this season and I'm sticking with it. Check out Ebay for great deals on new and used balls. It's alot cheaper than retail or pro-shop.

I am in the fortunate position of recieving these balls free so cost is not a factor. The combination of distance and control I find very good (it has to be said from semi rough and lush fairways there is a tendency for the ball to jump..but this is true of any new urethane based covers).I have to say I am surprised to hear some of the comments and comparisons with distance balls(tour distance,Topflite xl200 dist.etc....)there is no doubt these balls go further than the ProV1(they are designed to)and I simply cannot believe anyone thinks otherwise. The new ball goes further than previous Titleist premium balls but not as far as pinnacles and balls of their ilk.Golfers whose primary concern is gaining extra yardage have a miriad of cheaper and longer alternatives.
