I have been playing golf for only 8 months and I am 13. I played off 21 and could not get below my handicap, (using a mix of balls, mainly soft hogans). I decided to use the Prov1 for a round. I shot my best round (7 over). My short game and putting were supperb. The Prov1's have lovely feel with the putts and chips, have excellent distance for the feel, and amazing spin on short chips and full shots. Today I used my Prov1, and hit my longest drive ever (265 metres, through the wet ground at 7:00am). I am extremely impressed. Great ball.

This is the best ball that I have ever played with. It is so forgiving on the greens and in the fairways. The only downside to this ball is the price which is why I always put it away on holes with water on it.

I play the Pro V for the feel and the spin. It makes a big difference when putting. A soft feel with a precise true feel. This ball spins easily with short wedge shots. Ir goes and stops where you want. I spend good money on my clubs and the ball makes a big difference to the value of your clubs.

I also recommend this ball for the serious "improvement" golfer. It is worth it.

The only negative thing is the price. It doesn't feel good to lose a Pro V.

If Titleist made an NXT with a boundary layer, I would probably buy them.

A GREAT ball!!
Just had a match between a Pro V1 and Callway HX Tour. I rate both balls a 5 and wanted to see which would perform best under pressure. The Titleist was +2 for the front 9, and the Callaway was +4 for the back 9.
Titleist - 5 fairways, 5 greens
Callaway - 4 fairways, 4 greens

Love the previous reviewer.
"Hey I shoot in the 100's and this ball slices! Hate it"
Thats funny cause it is a relatively high spin ball designed for people like me shooting in the low 80's, occasionally 70's who enjoys the consistent playability and durability this ball brings.

Every venture to another brand finds a comprimise. If I gain distance, I lose touch. More touch excessive spin etc.

I absolutely hate the price, even used, like I buy, but it is the b all and end all of balls if you are in the low70/80's.
If shooting in 100's like Matt and wonder why a high spinning ball slices. You have your answer.

I'm not the best golfer but know what works. Tried a bunch of balls, I think this is the MOST overrated ball ever. Slices like hell. I keep trying it & come back w/ same results, another brand. Wouldnt play it if you gave them to me.

I play all Titleist equipment so thought I'd try these balls after hearing so much about them. What I like about them:
1.)Performance--Great distance and controllability.
2.)They "stick it" on the green--My friends often remark how my wedge shots stick the green and spin back. (Of course this has to do with the wedge play more than the ball, but it's part of the trick!).
3.)Durability--I have played 50 holes with one ball! No more cracked, or split ball covers. They can scuff, but some of my best hole scores were with a back-up ball that had some small scuffing.
4.)Brand quality--I have never bought anything from Titleist that didn't perform at a professional level, including this ball.
5.)Confidence inspiring at address--Face it, golf is a game of confidence and it makes me feel 10 strokes better than I am just seeing it in front of my club at address.

Having said all this, I truly believe that equipment doesn't matter all that much for a good golfer. A good swing can hit most any club or ball well. Distance is overrated. The short game is where the game is won. I absolutley know that's true. 100 yards and in. This is where the pros make their bread and this is where this ball excels.

Bottom Line--
They cost more, yes, but I believe they are a better value as they seem to last longer for a reasonably good ball striker. They perform at the top of the game short game, where money is made.

Customer Service

This ball is the one! i have tryed everything out there on the market...from callaway hx series, to the nike one series, and even the bridgestone balls, but nothing ever met the pro v1. this ball has everything...it just somtimes lacks the distance sometimes. it "drops and stops" on the greens and has a sweet feeling off any clubface. never will there be a ball this good.

i want to hate these balls. i don't like playing what everyone else does. i figured it was all tour hype. you know "play what the pros play". Simply put there is a reason they are playing them even when not sponsored by Titelist. Everything you could want in a ball. control, length, and durability. i see no other reason to play any other ball. please someone make a ball as good as this so I can switch to it! Until then I'll have to keep marking my ball so I know who's ball it is amongst the group of pro v's in the fairway.
