Top-Flite Gamer Balls

Top-Flite Gamer Balls

DESCRIPTION

Building upon the success of the Top-Flite D2® Golf Balls, Top-Flite has taken the benefits of proprietary Dimple in Dimple Aerodynamics and put it into a 3-piece performance golf ball that’s long, soft and generates more short-game spin for total control tee to green. The thin cover is made of a soft ionomer, and when combined with a firm ionomer boundary layer and a highly resilient rubber core, it gives golfers a ball that performs like no other in the Top-Flite lineup. It’s your secret weapon, your “go-to” ball. It’s your Gamer.

Seamless Dimple in Dimple™ Aerodynamics - Unique aerodynamic surface maintains spin longer throughout flight, allowing the ball to hold its line and maintain lift longer without ballooning. It also increases aerodynamic efficiency by reducing drag, maximizing distance for a wide range of swing speeds.

Soft, Thin Ionomer Cover - Provides enhanced feel and better control around the greens with increased short-game spin.

Large, High-Resiliency Core - Provides outstanding distance while maintaining soft feel.

Firm Boundary Layer - Works with the core to increase ball speed and helps minimize spin off the driver for long distance.

For the money, this is the best ball that I've ever played. Like others have said, it wears a bit, but you can finish a full 18 with this ball.

I have been looking for a lower priced ball that will give me above average spin and playability. After seeing the Gamer on the 2008 Golf Digest hot list and reading some favourable reviews I decided to purchase a dzn for $20. I had a game that afternoon at a local par 3 course and I figured 18 there would give me a real good idea of how this ball would perform around the greens. Overall it was a very decent ball (especially for the price) and although I was not able to get it to back up, I got a few that dropped and stopped. This was particularly impressive as the greens were hard and fast and I would imagine if they were a little softer getting the ball to check and even back up would be easy with the soft cover. Another indication of the spin you can generate came when I was hitting out of the long grass. Off the putter it was a touch on the hard side but gave good feedback and rolled true. I am looking forward to hitting a few off the driver to get an idea of how the distance is, but I noticed that there was no length difference between the Gamer and the Noodles I usually play when hitting my irons on that particular course. The only issues I had with the ball were that the cover scuffed very easily, I was peeling small bits off all day and there were several large gashes covering the ball, but on the plus side I was able to use the same ball all day. The other is the dimple-in-dimple, I found it distracting when addressing the ball and really don’t care for the looks, not sure if it actually works but its a minor thing. So looks like the Gamer will stay in my bag for some time as you can’t beat the feel for the price, I am also looking forward to trying the D2 feel as it may allow similar playability and a more durable cover.

I play several times a week & try different balls when I can. I picked up a dozen gamers in Fla for less than $20. They feel nice off the driver & iron but have very limited green holding. Honestly I think the regular 2 pc TF balls hold just as well as the gamer. I thought these would hold better.I am picky about balls & my game is consistent enough to see the difference.

I was not sure what to expect with this ball. I have been playing Feral/found balls so I have been playing callaways and nikes. I had never played a ball I have bought. I decided that it was time to pick a ball and go with one for many weeks.
Since i am not a scatch golfer it was explained to me I would not know how to use a good ball for what it is intended for.
Getting to the GAMER. This is a good ball. It was not as soft as some of the Nike's long & soft, but softer then all other Topflites i have played.
The covered handled a round very well with few scuffs.
The ball rolled down the fair way and got me extra yards.
I did have trouble geetting the ball to stick on the green. When chipping and short shots the ball would keep rolling. The greens I played were fast and the ball kept rolling and rolling.. I got the ball to stick on a par 3, off the tee box.
For someone playng my game (less 4 years experience, cheap clubs.
This ball is for me!

I went out today and played the Gamer. I was very impressed. Very soft feel and puts on the brakes real nice on the greens. Most hit and stuck, and a couple backed up a bit. I played the same ball all 18 and the soft cover held up pretty well. It had a couple of scuffs, but nothing major. This ball does pretty much everything that balls that are $35.00 & $40.00 a dozen do. Key words here are "pretty much". They are not a replacement for the Nike One Platinum or the ProV1x, but are a pretty good three piece performace ball for the price,$19.99 a dozen. I think I may have found my new ball.
