Being a reasonably bad golfer I never cared to much what ball I wanted to use. Ive tried everything Ive found in that graveyard that is the roughs of the courses. I began to use these balls and Top Flights XL2000 magna control. After using both I find that the Smart-Cores are better for a duffer such as myself. It seemed to improve my hooking and slicing better than the Top Flight as well as other balls ive used. My confidence really sored using these and in fact I was able to par 4 holes the other day as well as bogey 8 others. If i were a better putter I think I could have really done much better.

In My humble opinion If you wish to start caring about your game the Smart-Core Straight Distance are the way to go. They are currently sales out there which are 2 for 1 which is basically 24 balls for 30.00 bucks. Not to bad. If you dont care about improving keep using whatever. Actually the TiTechs sold at Wal-Mart are cheep like 9.00 for 15. If your a good player I would look elsewhere as these balls arent as Playable or spin crazy as others are. As for me these are perfect for my handicap and needs for now!!!

I tried the initial offering of this ball when it came out and it worked as advertized. The 2000-2001 verson, now on sale most places for $15 per dozen, feels a tad harder than the original around the green but is slightly longer off woods and irons. The only thing that can foil this ball off the tee or the fairway is a really, really terrible swing. And most of the time you will find even those. You want straight--this is it.

Great golf ball. It does what it says, reduces sidespin making the ball go higher and straighter. I have not played too many balls that hit this far, maybe the Pro-V1 and Titleist SF. The ball checked very well on the greens for a distance ball also. Overall just a great performer and score lowerer.

The Smart-core balls were very nice I like the way they feel when you hit them. The first time I tried them I gained about 10 more yards than I usualy do! I would recimend Wilson Smart-Core Straight Distance to anyone who does not hit the ball very far.

This ball goes very straight. Only a very bad swing will hook or slice it off the tee. It is also very easy to get up off the deck with the irons. Around the green putts true. Excellent ball for the money.

The original straight distance ball was longer, less expensive and stayed in the fairway better than the new Smart core.
