Callaway C4 - 10*, Firm
After several rounds of poor driving with my Hawkeye, I picked up the C4. I brought the two drivers to the range and found I lost about 10 yards compared to the best drives from my hawkeye (9*, firm), but that may be the loft difference between the two. This doesn't mean the C4 is a short driving club - I could still consistently get 270+ yards with it. The main difference between the two drivers is the C4 was far more consistent and straight. After playing a round with the C4, I think it'll stay in my golf bag. I'll gladly trade 10 yards if it means I'll find more fairways. This is a great driver. Customer Service Excellent - never been left unsatisfied. Similar Products Used: Hawkeye, Big Bertha Driver, Biggest Big Bertha Driver, Steelhead, Taylor Made Burner Bubble |

Well, feel and sound may not be as good as Titanium face driver, but straight is what we want, right? One advice, don't give up the very first time you use it because of miss hit. It will happen because the weight is totally different from others. It happened to me but I went driving range once and managed to use it from there onwards. The distance is about 10~15m shorter than my Hippo Giant 400cc, but I believe I can gain back that distance if I continue to play for another few more rounds. I hit 270~280m yesterday after 3 rounds of using. Some previous reviewers say C4 sounds funny which I think it not funny but different. A good hit sure sound sweet to me. A bad slice which I may get once a while from my Hippo will not happen with this club. A slight slice will happen still so I advice you aim a bit to the left if you. So the conclusion is, at this price I am paying. This is a great club. The distance is far and straight. So I guess it's good for beginers. I must agree with one of the reviews below that only Callaway were to produce the fairway woods with C4, that will really make my day. So go buy it before other no more in the market. P/S : For those higher handicappers who say you can't work on the club for a draw/fade, I think I also must agree with them. But I don't really care about that yet at my handicap. I'm pretty new to golf and I'm just getting my swing under controll. Most of the time I collect the ball pretty well but lack controll over direction. UNTILL I purchased the CC4. I had tried quite a few other drivers in the same price range and had very marginal results. With the C4 I found that 90% of the time I drove straight and long. It feels very weird to swing as it is so light, but if you forget about the feel of the club and just focus on your own form, it isn't hard to hit the ball well with this club. I would certainly reccomend anyone to at least try this club before purchasing a new driver. Customer Service No need as yet. Similar Products Used: Nike Ti 9degree |

Tried this club for the first time a 10 degree stiff flex, I was very disapointed with the results. The club face was completely devoid of any feel. I usually hit a high draw, which turns into a fade with this club (perhaps the callaway stiff shaft isnt as stiff as others?). Distance was poor in comparison to other drivers on the market. All in all I would not recommend this club anybody, your money would be better spent in a titanium driver. Customer Service Not needed Similar Products Used: ERC2, PING TiSi |

Callaway C4 9* Stiff
I bought my C4 about a month ago and am not sure if I will keep it. It is a very attractive looking club and indeed is very light. I think the shaft might not be quite stiff enough for my swing. I have to focus on holding back when I drive with this club because otherwise the clubhead seems to lag behind a bit and the ball ends up with a slight push/fade. My normal swing produces a slight draw on all of my other clubs. I am able to work the ball though, if needed, but this club is a bit tougher for me to draw/slice as needed. The clubface produces an unusual feeling. To me, it is not as easy to feel the usual feeling you get when you hit one "on the screws", as us former persimmon wood owners used to say. The sound it makes is unique, took a while to get used to after my Taylor Made driver. I am now looking into a Taylor Made R510 and will compare the two as far as acuracy and distance. I must admit, distance is not the main issue with me. I hit the ball plenty far, sometimes too far, ending up with akwardly short pitch shots on medium length par 4's. However, for the price I paid it is a good club, but may not be what I was looking for when I bought it. It does have a number of good reviews and in this review I'll give it a B. C4 Firm Flex
I purchased the driver few a day ago mainly for my wife but I couldn't pass up the chance of trying it first before I get one for her and myself. After hitting a few balls in the store, I am convinced that this is a good purchase. I went out today at the driving range and I am definitely impressed how easy it is to swing. Great distance. I had other Callaway drivers before and this is the best one yet. My friends will freak out when they see this secret weapon. The only minor complain that I have is the shaft - just a little bit too flexible but none the less does a good job. Customer Service Callaway has been excellent when one of my driver broke loose, they replaced it with a new one. This is the best club ever.I've purchased it after a demo, and liked it instantly. I like the sound of it.It's not so noisy as these big bang drivers, and it also goes far longer than I have ever hit before.I've tried some drivers in my time, but nothing like this.I hit straighter, and my yardidge has moved from 220 to 260. What more can a golfer want. It's FANTASTIC!!! Customer Service No complains there. Similar Products Used: Dunlop DDH, Wilson Deep Red 365, Taylor Made 360, Nike 350, Titleist 975 J. |

Callaway C4 Driver 9* loft
Before purchasing my C4, I did not carry a driver. Instead, I used my 3 wood as a driver. When I first started playing a few years ago, several teaching professionals said that, because I did not have a lot of club head spead, I could hit a 3 wood as far or farther than a driver and that I would find it much easier to keep a 3 wood in the fair way. The problem is that I cannot seem to consistently hit the ball over 200 yards with my 3 wood and I was hitting it all over the place. I saw the C4 on sale at David Gates Golf for $200 (at the time, I thought that this was really good price on a club that used to cost over $400.) I had heard a lot of people complain that the club was too light and I thought, "maybe that's just the ticket for me with my lack of power." I tried hitting the club in the little room with the screen. The club felt really good, but the screen said I was only hitting it about 170 yards. From the feel at impact, I could not believe this, so I bought the club anyway. The next day on the course, I was slicing the hell out of the club until near the end of the round when I realized I needed to move the ball forward in my stance about 4 or 5 inches. Once I did that, I started finding the fairways and I was consistantly hitting the ball around 210 yards. This is not a huge increase in distance, but as long as I keep my head behind the ball at impact, I am consistantly finding the fairways. I find it much easier to get the ball in the fairways than with my 3 wood. On the other hand, when I let my head move forward before impact, the slice is quite nasty, but then you would expect this with any club. As I have gotten used to the club, I have gotten my consistant distance up to about 220 yards. That is with a little fade. I am still working on my timing. Every once in a while, I get my hands turned over on time and I hit the ball with no fade at all and it goes about 250 yards. This is very exiting to someone who has struggle to hit the ball 200 yards. What I find is that a nice smooth swing works best. If I really try to crank the ball, like I used to do with my 3 wood just to get it out to 210 yards, I tend to loos control of the club. A nice smooth swing with good timing works wonders. Who'd a thunk it? :-) I have only had the club about a month, so I cannot comment on the durability other than to say that I have had no problems so far.
