Model Reviewed: Nike Ignite 460 driver.

I replaced a Biggest big bertha shafted with a Proforce 65. I had a choice of 5 drivers to pick from.....free! (I won a contest.) After weeks of extensive research (cuz i wanted to get it right), I passed on the Cobra 454, the Callaway 454, the new Big Bertha and the Taylormade R580. The Nike 460 was it! Tee it normal, not too high, swing from the inside and BOOOOM. Outta sight. Ultra-forgiving, sounds great and loooooong. I removed 3 to 6 strokes off my game overnight. Case closed.

I can sum this club up quickly. If you want long and aren't worried about fairways...BUY IT! This club is very long, but missed fairways is the trade-off. The feel is great and the sound is wonderful. I loved the trajectory and distance and the club is very forgiving. Overall I think Nike has a good club on their hands. Pleased.

the nike ignite driver is by far the best driver i have had the privelage of using. its extremely long and accurate. and under a controlled swing i hit most the fairways. If you need that little extra power its there waiting to oblige you. The driver has a slightly balooning affect when you first hit it so i suggest moving down a degree fron your normal driver loft this is due to its trampeline effect. its amazing how far this driver can hit the ball and its high penertrating flight is fantastic.

I went to a demo and hit a host of Drivers. Anyhow, I had my mind set to buY the Cobra 454 comp. I went to find my friend and he was over at the Nike tent. I really didnt plan on hitting the Nike, but since I was waiting on him, I thought I would hit it. Well, I boomed it time and time again. I told myself I was gonna get the one I hit the best. So I went out and got one. The one downfall was the $185 {used} Ignite I bought had the factory shaft on it and the one I demo'd had a graffaloy shaft. Naturally, I had to fork out some more dough for the shaft. However, It is a fantastic driver with a different shaft. Keep that in mind if you decide to buy one. I am leaving a rating based on the Ignite with the upgraded shaft.

My 12 year-old son bought a set of new Jazz clubs, which came with a 400CC oversize driver. I hit his driver on the range a few times, and found that even with a cheap aluminum driver I was still hitting it much more accurately than with my Prestige Golf driver. I went in search of a decent, economical driver. I initially tried hitting the Wilson Fatboy, but once I hit the Nike I was sold. It was more than I wanted to spend, but it has paid off on the course. As has been mentioned in several reviews it is very forgiving with shots that come off the toe or near the heel, and the ones that come off the sweet spot are...well, sweet. I'm consistently hitting between 260 and 280, and occasionally get one out near the 300 mark. Oh yeah, and the sound when the ball comes off the club is fabulous.

Found this club to be long and forgiving. Did not like factory shaft which gave low trajectory for me. Changed to Reg IROD driver shaft which resulted in nice high shots with good distance.

Purchased this driver as a replacement for my Aging Titleist 983. I hit the driver long but was a little erratic and considered dumping it in favor of a new TM R5. Instead I reshafted with an Aldila NV65-S. The driver is now just as long, with a slightly lower trajectory (less carry but more roll - no change in overall distance), and much more control. The 4.0 torque on the stock Fujikura shaft is just a bit too soft and replacing the shaft made this into a superb driver.

Customer Service

Never used. Nike service in South Africa is historically pretty good.

Very exited to use this club I read quite alot about it and decided to see if it lives up to it's name. The first thing that strikes me is how short the club looks at set-up. The heads so big that the shaft is much shorter than normal. The club came of the face with a mighty 'tonk' and flew high and landed with minimal backspin. The only thing that suprised me when analysed is it slowed my swing from 110mph to 95mph which was made up for in club bounce. a confident feel and setup and one of the best drivers on the market today. along with my favourite the R7 which has what I consider a much more solid feel at impact.

Very stylish looking drive with nice sound on impact. Great trajectory even with the 10.5 degree loft, alot lower than my 9.5deg 983K. Re-shafted with Penley stiff shaft and combination works great. Similar distances to my Titleist 983k but tends to be a fade rather than straight or draw which is my usual ball flight??

Great driver. Huge sweet spot; I guess with such a ginormous head, there'd have to be. It's definitely longer and straighter than my tm 300ti. Contacts the ball with a very distinctive "aluminum bat" kind of sound. I kind of like the noise, but could see it turning some off. The stock stiff shaft works fine for me. Get one on ebay for cheap!
