Purchased the used Ignite on ebay. Anyone still paying full price for golf clubs? Don't. Replaced my Titleist 983K (365cc) 10.5 regular flex (Titleist shaft) with the Ignite 460 9.5 stiff (Fujikara shaft). Slightly lower trajectory with a little more control. I'm not experiencing a radical difference in my drives or distance as some people on this site claim when they try a new club. The 983K and Ignite drivers are both nice clubs. The Ignite seems to produce a little more distance and control. A good drive for the 983 was around 230. The occasional 240 - 270 with roll but those were rare. The Ignite might do 5 - 15 more than that.

Just had time to use this at the range after an impulsive web buy - I was attracted to the large head and hot face. This driver is very long, an effortless swing for myself(Average swing speed) produced a mid/high trajectory with low spin. At my shortish driving range I was carrying between 200-220 with plenty of roll thereafter. As non member of the 300 yards-of-bust-brigade I found this very pleasing. The most distintive aspect of this driver is the combination of feel at impact and sound. I really wasn't sure whether or not I hit a good shot until my swing pulled me up to watch the flight of the ball, you will note any heel or toe shots by the basic fact of the club head twisting at impact - however the ignite is still forgiving with such shots providing half decent carry off the tee. Don't be put off by head size, it is confidence inspiring and I found the swing weight perfect. Generally speaking I found the accuracy good and I suspect this will improve substantially when I become accustomed to it's regular use. Overall this is a good driver and with time will become excellent driver. One of those drivers some will love others will hate.

This club is awesome. I am a pretty big hitter, and for some time have only been using irons off the tee to try to get some consistency into my game. While reading the Robot test article in Golf World, I noticed the winner was the Nike Ignite +. Having a brief moment of madness, I logged onto the internet and made an impulse buy. 2 days later, the club arrived and I went straight down to the range. Just to clarify, I have never used a big head driver before, and have had moderate success with my 10 degree stiff flex Big Bertha, which I have had for 10 years. My main problem was accuracy, with the occaisional wild shot getting me into a lot of trouble. After 1 shot I was amazed at how this club felt and performed. The trajectory that the balls flies off at is unbelievable. It almost seems TOO high, until you realise just how far the ball is carrying. I was EASILY carrying 250 yards with a range ball! 50 balls later and my ears were ringing. The noise this bad boy makes when you hit the sweet spot is unreal! Even when I felt myself hit the ball out of the toe or the heel, it was still carrying well over 200yds. I left the range after 100 balls, having hardly hit a bad shot with a huge smile on my face. I later attributed thsi a lot to the fact that my confidence was no doubt increased due to some new sporting equipment. The next day at the raneg I didn't hit a bad shot. Still - I was a little sceptical that this was not mainly to do with increased confidence. The next day I vistited my local course - a tight course, but quite short. I was convinced that the club would be a bit wild on the course, and would get me into trouble. I barely missed a fairway with it, estimated average 280 yards, with 1 big hit on a down hill fairway going the best part of 330 yards. One mroe visit to the range and I am now satisfied that this is the best purchase I have made for a long time. A couple of my mates have had a brief go with the club, but have not hit it well, so I wouldn't necessarily say this was the right club for everyone, but it seems to suit my swing down to a tee (excuse the pun ;o). I honestly believe that with this club in my bag and a bit of work on my short game, that I can take 2 or 3 shots off of my 10 handicap in the next few months

After their crappy forged driver I was very hesitant to even demo the club. But one day I went to Roger Dunn and try it out. I was wavering between the TM r580 xd and this club. To my surprise it felt really good. On their monitor I had almost no spin on the ball. Which supposidly allows balls to go farther. But the real thing was that it felt great. So when I saw a good price on ebay I jumped all over it. Real test was on the field. Long. (around 250) I think especially on misses. The huge face allows you to get away with alot of mistakes. But you do know you flush it. Not as good as Titleist but pretty good. The shaft is sweet too. I have a reg flex fujikura. I swing around 90-95mph and I did not feel that the shaft got too loose when I swung hard. Overall I think for less than $250 it is a great deal. Take advantage of their bad rep and you got a good deal.

Great club if you want a club that goes straight, forgiving, and long this is the club. It has a large head and gives me a lot of confidence if you are a player that likes to work the ball look somewhere else this club is very hard to work. It is about 5-10 yards longer than my other drivers that I have owned. Great club I highly recommend it.

For a couple of years I've been rotating through a PING TISI, Titleist 975D & 983E and TaylorMade 510 drivers...with great success on all. Earlier this year I had an opportunity to demo the Nike Ignite and was very impressed. I found that the set-up for me was the 410cc in 8.5 degrees with an Aldila NV65 x-stiff shaft. I ordered the Ignite from the TGW and have had it for two weeks. Have been to the range with it several times and have been on the course for two rounds and the club performs well beyond my expectations. The ball comes off the Ignite like a rocket and seems to go forever. Trajectory is great and I can work the ball as well as I could with the other drivers I mentioned. Due to the size of the Ignite I was put off a bit at first during the demo session and even after I got my own but it doesn't take long to get use to the size when the results are so good! The club sets up well on the tee and is a very good looking design, this includes the headcover as well! As with any pro-line club I strongly suggest that you demo in every combination that you can and when you're satisfied you've found the right combo than order with confidence...unless you can find what you want right off the rack. I've hesitated on Nike equipment (drivers in particular) but this time they've gotten it all together with an excellent product.

I tired this club at a demo day and I love it. I first hit 460cc 10.5 stiff and was hitting it good. Then the dealer asked me to try the regular shaft 13 degree driver and I couldnt do no worng. I have struggled since last year trying to get off the T's but with poor accuracy and very little distance scores have been all over the place. I truly believe this will help my game. The feel is great, the ball is straight and it goes about 250 to 260. I WILL BE PURCHASING ONE OF THESE.

I also hit a Big Bertha 2 11 degree driver. I hit that pretty good to. It felt effortless when hitting the club. Smooth feeling. If I didnt like the NIKE so much I would probably by this one.

Model Reviewed: Nike Ignite 460 10.5* stiff stock shaft

Just to get swing speed out of the way, 105. I wanted to like this club so bad. To give you an idea, instead of purchasing a new driver in March as I had planned, I waited until the Ignite came out, because the new technology just made sense. Anyway, in addition to performance on the course, I now have the privilege of using a launch monitor to put some numbers on what I feel. After having an exceptional driving day on the course (averaging around 260-265, with one going 290 on a slight downhill hole with a breeze at my back) I wanted to see what the launch monitor told me was the best driver for me. I narrowed it down to the Nike Ignite and the Titleist 983k 10.5 with the Aldila NV 65 shaft. The Titleist was giving about the results I expected, so I then hit the Ignite. Inexplicibly, my ball speed dropped by about 7mph! This was consistent as I hit about 7 shots with the Ignite. I had some previous success with the GBBII so I wanted to see those results to determine if it was the Ignite or just me getting tired. Well, with the GBBII, my ball speed returned to around the speed of the Titleist. I can't explain it. I then went on to hit the 580xd, the Launcher 460, and the ERC Fusion. Just as I was convinced that the 983k would be in my bag the next day, the pro suggested I hit the Cobra 400 SZ 9*, as other customers had found success with this driver. Again, inexplicibly, I was achieving 6mph more ball speed with the Cobra than anything else. This was after a bucket of balls, 18 holes, and about 50 shots on launch monitor so if anything I thought the ball speed would be lower. Getting to the point, I now have a Cobra 400 SZ demo in my bag.

I tried a demo at a local course, wanted to like this club very much. I like the way the club looks and sets up at address, beyond that it left much to be desired. It felt dead at impact. Well struck shots did not travel as far as others did, not nearly as far. I think Nike made a mistake making this club 45.25" in length, it makes the swing weight heavier than it needs to be. You get the feeling that it is difficult to really go after it with this club. I must say that it is better than Nike's previous offering...they are making progress if nothing else!
