Ping G5
I went to a ping demo day and hit alot of Drivers. I long ago gave up on hitting my driver and usually hit a 3, or long iron off the tee. I recently went to a clinic while on spring break and have been killing my 3 and 5 wood. Finally decided to try a driver.
Customer Service Ping guy gary was great, spent time with me and knew i wasnt going to buy his product. Similar Products Used: None |

Ping G5 9 Degree Aldila NV Xstiff
I had been playing with the TaylorMade R7 driver 10.5 degree with a stiff Graffaloy Prolaunch shaft the last few years and recently switched to the Ping G5 9 degree driver with an Aldila NV X shaft. Like many of the R7 reviews here indicate, the 400cc R7 model hits it shorter than most drivers and frankly does not make up for it on forgiveness. Basically, I should have taken this club out of my bag 3 months after making the purchase.

Ping G5 Driver
Almost bought the Ping G2 driver at the end of last season, but thought the ball flight was too high and had too much spin (granted I only hit it off the driving range multiple times). I am glad I waited until spring to make my purchase. I attended a "demo days" and tried all flavors and nothing compared to the Ping G5 driver! I hit balls for over 2 hours and kept coming back to the G5. 2 days later I went back to hit the G5 10.5* w/ the Prolaunch regular flex shaft and it was just as amazing! Made the purchase and no regrets. First day on the course with it was incredible. Great distance, ball flight, and consistent control. With my old Titelist 975-LFE driver I had some control problems. The G5 has give me lots of confidence and I just love launching it off the tee box! Awesome club! Keep up the good work Ping! Ping G5 9* with NV65 stiff
I had been playing the G2 10* with the NV65 for about a 2 years and always hit it very straight but generated too much backspin and therefore little roll and some ballooning. Had heard there wasn't that much of a difference between the G2 and G5--WOW is that wrong. Just recently purchased the G5 9* and this thing is a monster. It carries forever and hits the ground hot. The spin rate has dropped about 300 rpms and has allowed me to increase the overall distance about 10+ yards. The launch angle is still nice and high with a soft fade and am getting carry of around 260 and averaging total distance of around 270ish and that was on a windy day!!

G5 10.5 deg prolaunch reg
Previously owned the 10 deg G2 withbthe same shaft. Wanted a touch more height to my drives so got the G5. I can't fault it. If I miss one fairway per round I think I am doing poorly. Its that accurate. It may not be as long as some out these but it is the most accurate driver I have used !!!!!! Customer Service Not Needed Similar Products Used: Everything |

Ping G5 460 12 Degree Offset - Regular TFC Shaft
Demo'ed several 'big headed' drivers and can very honestly say that for an average golfer such as myself (break 90 occasionally, normally under 95), this club is absolutely fantastic.

Ping G5 Offset 10.5
My local golf store recommended this club. I was playing the r7, but it just did not live up to its hype. I've played one round with the G5 so far, and I must say I am very impressed. I hit it straight and long. My average drive with it was about 275. I hit a couple around 310-315. I've never played my 52 and 56 degree wedges as much as I did during my last round.

Over the past two years I have played with many drivers. I ended up sticking with TaylorMade's r7. I really liked it, but it didn't have the forgiveness I was needing. I bought the r7 425 and it is great, but I hate the sound at impact.

Ping G5
This is my second review of this club. I purchased it during the end of October or the first of November and have used it frequently since. This is a great club. I am still learning to hit it, however, I am in the fairway much more often. No problem with distance. I can't say it enough, this is a great club, especially with the ProLaunch S65 shaft. If you are even thinking about this club, give it a try and make sure to get fitted for the correct shaft and loft.

On and off through the past ten years or so I've played PING equipment but got away from it and switched to Callaway. Had no problem with the Callaway X-16 Pro Series irons that I've been using or the Callaway 454 driver (as well as a Nike Ingnite and TM R7) but...I'm getting to the point where I prefer a more forgiving club that is fitted to my game and swing...PING! I had the G5 custom fitted and ordered through The Golf Warehouse...10.5 degrees with Aldila NVS-S shaft, made at PING's WRX shop. And, I also had a G5 strong 3 wood made (same shaft), a G5 hybrid in 19 degrees (Aldila NV85-S Hybrid) and a set of G5 irons (PING graphite in stiff), all thru TGW. The G5 driver is long and straight yet, when I need to, I can work the ball. I had the fitting done at a local retailer whom I paid for the service in light of the fact that he wouldn't order just the 5 thru 9 irons for me...don't need a full set. So, armed with the fitting info I went to TGW and saved a lot of money even in light of the fitting fee. PING has really done an excellent job on the G5 series, starting with the driver...great looks, great feel, very responsive off the tee, very workable. I strongly advise all that you need to be fitted for golf equipment, literally all of the clubs in the bag including the putter! You won't go wrong with this driver...it works, and works well, and the price is right. Customer Service PING is PING, there is no exception...they are excellent...go to their website and you'll see what I mean. If you have a question, they answer it, quickly and accurately.
