I love this club. This driver is one of the best clubs I have ever Played. The shape of the clubhead and the size make you feel comfortable when setting up. The G5 is 20-30 yrds longer than my last driver which was a Snake Eyes Viper. I can work the ball either way off the tee. This club will be in my bag for a while.

If you TRUELY hit 290+ yds with your current club most of the time, then don't change. It won't do anything for you except money our out your pocket. Don't kid yourself

It's more some questions than a review. I presently trying a ping g2 (10,5o, stiff grafalloy), hit very well 290 avg straight but i'm wondering if i could do better with a G5, is it worth it? I red too many reviews i think and i'm a little bit confused. i could buy a used g2 for 200$ CND.

The G5 is a good driver. Mine has the UST V2 in S flex. I am just a little dissapointed that I hit my G2 better and longer. Before you buy, hit the G2... maybe the G5 will be better for you, but if, like me, the G2 is better for you, save a chunk of cash!

I am 53 with a handicap of 2 at the Orchard Golf & CC, Cavite, Philippines. I am using a G5 7.5 Degree with a regular Aldila NV Shaft. Been playing the game since I was 10 and a few months ago I thought that age has finally shown its ugly face because I was starting to loss distance against my fellow competitors who are in the 30's and 40's. As I continue to use the driver, I noticed that the distance lost a few months back has returned plus an added 10 to 20 yards. Frantastic driver, very easy to use and very straight. Insecurities are now facing my golf buddies since I have started to match the distance they can throw at me. Highly recommend this driver given I've tried practically all kinds of drivers (US and Japan made).

Am also using G5 Irons that replace my Srixon I-201 irons which I have had a lot of success with in the past 3 yrs. I'm sure the Pings will surpass these achievements.

I haven`t used a driver in 3 years. I just couldnt find the fairway. Instead I used a Callaway Heavenwood hybrid to great effect (reaching 200-240yds). Having read the G5 reviews I decided to make a leap of faith and get ping`ed. First day out really struggled just to connect with the ball. Very lond shaft at nearly 46inches. Got 1 inch taken off shaft and added weight to head. Second day out - unreal. Straight and long. Goes where its pointed - very forgiving. Consistantly getting 280 yds. Third day out won longest drive with 310yd drive. I`m now considered a "bighitter". What more could you want?

Although I liked my Cobra SZ 440 10.5 degree driver with a regular graphite design shaft for its forgiveness, it never delivered the distance that I felt I deserved with a solid swing, i.e. 220-230 yds. So I went to Golfsmith for a fitting and changed to the G5 driver with a 9 degree face and a regular aldila nv shaft. Now my drives are longer, even straighter, and goes an additional twenty to thirty yards with the extra roll built into the low spin clubhead design. Yesterday I hit a 240 yard drive into a 3 club wind at La Purisma Golf Course. I still classify myself, for now as a 80's shooter, but since playing with the G5 the past month, I have broken into the 70's twice and at different public courses. I credit the G5 with allowing me better opportunities at hitting shorter irons to the par 4's which result in more birdies per round than I have ever had in my life.

Well.. after having two trustowrthy years using an old Callaway Great Big Bertha II+, i felt the need to spoil myself with a new dirver.. i have had the G5 irons since Christmas and have got on with them brilliantly.. their launch angle, distance, spin.. all works perfectly for me! I haven't tried any iron as of yet that are any where near as forgiving as these beauts! So.. inevitably, when it came to getting a new driver, i decided to demo the G5 at my home club, i took it out onto the course and really got along with it well.. i was hitting the biggest and straightest drives of my life, they were maxing at a distance of 290ish.. (Taking into consideration that before this driver i would hit my tee shots about 240!) I am definitely going to buy this club and i would almost definitely recommend it to any standard golfer! GREAT CLUB!

This Driver is simply the best on the market. You will not find a better club that combines distance and forgiveness. If you miss hit this club you still end up with a good shot. Take the time to make sure you get the right shaft for your swing. The G5 was engineered for the TFC100D and it performs best for most golfers according to Ping. Tee height is also important when hitting this as well as any driver. For me teeing 1/2 the ball above the top of the club head works perfectly. Like others have said it really does feel like cheating!

I have owned my Ping G5 Driver for two days. I have been to the driving range each of those two days. I'm pretty sure my self esteem is, as I write this passage, at an all time high. There's a certain swagger to my stride. My beard seems to be growing faster. Small animals run away from me now. My pants come out of the dryer already pressed. I should be in a Levitra commercial. I owe all of this to my new Ping G5 Driver (please take note of the fact that I have capitalized the word "Driver" here.) There's a reason.

This thing hits far and it hits straight. But mostly it hits far. We're talking really, really far. I have hit with more distance than I have ever hit in my life. I went to the range tonight with my wife...you know...to show off. She actually said "wow..." This is my wife we're talking about here. She doesn't exactly dole out compliments. She's more of the "Oh, your playing golf with John and Dwight again this weekend?...what a surprise" type. Now she wants one too. It's that type of club. You will without a doubt be satisfied with this product. There is no way that you can't be. The only doubt that may crawl into the furthest recesses of you consciousness might be the slightest suspicion that having this club in your bag constitutes cheating...but it doesn't. The dream is real.

I bought the 10.5. The trajectory of the ball was nearly comical. It actually seemed to go at a 37 degree angle for 180 yards or so and then explode upwards before settling well over the netting at the end of the range. No, I'm not joking. I've never felt more solid contact.
