Ping Ti SI Drivers

DESCRIPTION

From Ping: At 323cc the TiSI is the largest, totally custom-fit titanium driver available today. More importantly (for most golfers), it's also one of the longest-hitting drivers on the market.

TAKE MY SWING SPEED OF 117MPH AND CUSTOM FIT YOUR PING TI SI INTO A 48" HARRISON UL GRAPHITE WITH CARBON TIP 2.5 TORQUE.
THEN ON THE FIRST TEE YOU TELL YOUR FOURSOME YOU PLAN TO CLEAR 65FT.TREES THAT PROVIDES A NORMAL DOGLEG TO GREEN THAT'S 330 YDS.AWAY AND YOU CLEAR THE TREES AND LAND 10YDS. FROM THE GREEN...WHAT A RUSH! THE PLAYERS IMMEDIATELY RELATE THAT THEY HAVE SEEN OTHER PLAYERS CLEAR THESE TREES...I CHUCKLE TO MYSELF...THEY DON'T REALIZE I'M 60 YEARS OLD!
THAT IS AN EXCEPTIONAL TEE-SHOT BUT THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL
CLUB AND I DON'T THINK THIS CONFIGERATION IS GOOD FOR EVERYONE...WORK ON CUSTOMIZING YOUR CLUB TO YOUR GAME. THAT STILL DOESN'T MEAN YOU WANT SLICE OCCASSIONALLY. YOU SEE GOLF IS AS MUCH A MIND GAME AS IT IS PHYSICAL!
THE MIND PART WORRIES ME...GRIP IT AND RIP IT...HAVE SOME FUN A FEW LAUGHTS...REMEMBER GOLF IS ONLY A GAME!

When I was looking for clubs last year, I tried a lot of demos. My biggest problem is with the big dog and no other club compared for forgiveness or accuracy. Realistically I average between 240-260 with the UST 65 stiff shaft. If I don't hit a drive well, its definitely not the clubs fault. I don't see me trading this club in for a very very long time.

Customer Service

I custom ordered it which took 4 weeks. Not very fast when your waiting.

First of all I would like to say. THIS IS NOT A MIRACLE CLUB. If you have a slice swing it WILL SLICE. No matter what. Howerver where you hit it on the club really doesn;t matter. It seems like the face is all sweet spot, maybe because of it's size. I hated the firesole compared to this. This is way more forgiving on offcenter hits but remember, accuracy isn't going to come from an expensive club, it comes from of a proper swing.

Customer Service

No probs yet.

This is a tremendous club if you desire a balance of length and accuracy. Played with it for the first time yesterday in a scramble. One poor drive (after a 1 hour rain delay) and the rest were absolutely superb. Believe the Grafalloy shaft is far superior to stock shaft for consistency. Unlike many other "fishing" stories appearing here, I realistically averaged 250 yards, with my normal swing speed of 93 mph. That 250 was always in the center of the fairway.

I believe this is a great driver but be cautious on your shaft selection. I would not recommend the stock shafts. Second, I switched from Stiff shafts to regular shafts because at 93 mph I was on the borderline of the Regular/Stiff decision. I do not regret the change one bit. I was actually more accurate with the Regular shaft than my old Bertha stiff.

I hit just about every brand name driver on the market, and it boiled down to the TiSi and the Taylormade 320. The Ping just felt better to me. While the Taylormade may have been a tad bit longer, the Ping was more consistent. That's what I want from my game. I also believe this is a good complement to my new Hogan Apex Plus irons.

This club is expensive, as all drivers appear to be these days. Yet, I believe the technology used in this club validate the high cost. My next purchase will be the matching 3-wood.

Customer Service

Received the driver 10 days after order.

I have always been cheap as all get out when it came to the big stick. With an old raven, and powerbilt i would average 285 or so.
I bought this club used at a local shop. It was all banged up. $260.00 even with the UST Pro Force Gold 65. I took it our and Hit a 360 yarder with a 15 mph wind. Huge. It was no anomale though. I am averaging about 315 yards over the last four rounds, and dead straight.
this shaft is the most consistent on the market. the head is extremely forgiving.

The search is over for me! I have never hit as many fairways nor as long with any other club. Mine has an AJ Tech 4270 shaft which probably makes all the difference. I am sure my next review will show a 70's shooter thanks mostly to this club. It hits the ball high and straight.

Used this driver for a year. When I hit is right the ball would go a long way, but it was a stuggle to gain any consistancy with this club.

The negatives: It sounds TERRIBLE. This club makes everyone at the range look up, people would actually move away from me. It was hard for me to feel the club throughout the swing and this lead to control problems. The head size is intimidating and does not setup well at address for me. The stock shaft is bad, I reshafted it with the UST PF65, but it still sounded terrible and I was inconsistant with it.

This club may be great for some people. I think those with a slow smooth tempo like this club the most. The more aggressive I would swing (may normal tempo) the poor the result with this club. Overall, I tryed my best to make this club work, but it's not the driver for me. I have switched to custom built Snake Eyes Fire Forged Ti and really like.

Customer Service

good. Very quick with reshaft and refinished the club for free.

If you cant hit this club thats fine.... But, trashing the Ping name is childish.... Everyone I have ever played with can hit this club and most switch to it the next day or week... ( the reson why Ping has different models fo the club is so you can custom fit the club to your swing.....) I have hit most of the news clubs and there is not another driver out there i can crush like this one. It may be big but once you get the model that works for you that is all you will need.
I demo'd the 8.5 RUD at a local course and hit every fairway and hit the ball at least 30 yards longer and with a slight draw. I could tell you story after story about this club and the shots i have made with it but, I dont have the time. Just go demo the thing............

Customer Service

Not yet ..... My club is fine after 10 months no cracks or trouble...

This driver is amazing. Off center hits are generally fairly long and in the fairway. The sweet spot hits are the most impressive though. The ball blasts out there and seem to hang in the air for what seems like an eternity. Highly recommended for everybody.

By the way. All of you people who complain that this driver is: A hooker's nightmare, or a slicer's nightmare, you should know that there are different hosel configurations. There is a normal square faced hosel, draw biased hosel, an extreme draw hosel, a fade biased hosel, and I believe there is an extreme fade hosel, all for ultimate customization. Should have thought about that. You can see all of this information at www.pinggolf.com .
