These fairway woods get very high marks here and in many other places, both internet sites (Ham and Egg, Golf Club Review) and magazines. I used this research to make my choice. The i3's are simply excellent in all respects. They are small enough to use successfully from any kind of lie, are easy to get the ball in the air and are remarkably straight. Of course we all know good shots are 90% related to how you swing the club, but it helps to get the last 10% from your equipment. The sound and feel are solid and they are very satisfying to use. Go buy one now!

Model Reviewed: i3 3-wood 14*, stiff graphite shaft

Due to all the great reviws, I tried the i3 14* 3-wood. Well, although I was able to hit some good straight shots, I didn't get much distance. I got the stiff shaft due to many reviews saying the stock shafts run on the flexible side. Maybe I should try the regular flex or an aftermarket shaft.

Absolutely fantastic feel, distance, and control. I am not a long hitter, but now I'm reaching long par 4's and 5's much easier and more accurately. I couldn't consistently control the Tight Lies 2 woods, and the ST's weren't that much different. I was fitted with a 2* upright lie which eliminated my fade. I'm now hitting long par 3's much easier than with long irons, too. The feel is SO sweet. I've dropped 4-5 strokes since changing from Adams Tight Lies 2 to Ping i3. They'll be in my bag for a long time!

Customer Service

Outstanding. I needed mine delivered before I left town for a vacation, and they got them to me very quickly.

Model Reviewed: Ping I-3 3 wood 12 deg.

I had been hitting the Callaway Steelhead Plus 3 wood for a long time. It was great off the tee, but I had some problems with it of the deck. My brother was playing the Ping I3 5 wood, 17 degrees, and was hitting it so long that I had to try it. I then traded out for an I3 3 wood and am I glad I did. Off the tee or the deck, the distance is the same! I am killing it about 260 yards with a solid strike. It has such a solid feel and is such a consistent club. Don't tee it too high, or it will sky, but the same is true with any low profile wood. This club is great. If you don't have trouble getting the ball in the air, get the 12 degree rather than the 14. The ball flight is much more boring and it rolls forever. Great in the wind. Now I need to decide whether to keep my 2 iron, or get the I3 5 wood!

Customer Service

Good customer service. Reshaft and cracked face replacement each took about 2 weeks through golf shop.

These clubs are branded as stiff but the are quite soft, however because the shafts are steel this flex creates great distance with any swing. The added advantage is the high trajectory. With the 5 wood lands very soft. These clubs also make a great ping should which adds to the great feel and straight long shots.

The best fairway wood I have ever hit. I just wish Delta Airlines could find my set of clubs so I could play them again. I miss my girls....

I could've got it cheaper at other places, but tgw.com gave me free 2nd day air. Anyways... one word describes this. LONG! I hit this off the tee all day over my driver just to hit it (first time out with it), and shot 72 (+1). I already had a gap between my 3 iron and 3 wood... now its huge. I am looking at the Baffler multi metal 18* because I hit this 3 wood almost as far as my driver... off the fairway! I had starting having more problems with my Steelhead "firm" shaft (seems more like regular)... and thought this would be a good opportunity to try a new one and WOW! I'm definitely impressed... I will keep this in my bag for a while.

Model Reviewed: ping 13 14* (graphite)

This club is a bomb off the tee. Easy to turn over and produces monster tee shots that land soft. However for 14* i think this club hits the ball a little too high. My only gripe about the club is that i feel it is hard to hit the club off of a tight lie. I can hit it well out of the rough, or when it sits up a little in the fairway, but tight lies are not what this club is used for. I dont want a three wood that i cant hit off a tight fairway lie. Otherwise the club is very solid. Good feel and great sound, however i am moving to my titleist, which i can hit from a variety of lies.

Best Driver for this money period. I've hit the Callaway VFT driver and the Ping Tisi and all the other big names and this hits just as far. Its a forgiving club, long off the tee, and if you have enough skills, you can hit it off the ground.

What a club! It swings itself. I was in the market for a 3 wood so that I could have more confidence getting off the box, and this has brought me that and more. I am very happy with this purchase!!
