Titleist 975F Fairway Woods

Titleist 975F Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

The 975F is the ultimate combination of size and weighting in a fairway metal, producing a sweet, solid feel and sound. The lower center of gravity and increased face roll provide the proper launch angle and easy-up playability. The internal weighting is forward biased to reduce spin and produce a flatter downrange trajectory, the hallmark of all Titleist 975F fairway metals. The leading edge is beveled and radiused and the sole is crowned along the center for playability from all types of lies.

This club is only for those of you who have a decent swing. When i first bought it, I was not comfortable using this club. So I concentrated on getting my swing fixed. Now it is one of my favourite clubs in my bag. I have mine fitted with graffaloy fairway shafts. The combination of the weight of the clubhead and the shaft is superb. It sends the ball at a very boring trajectory which just cuts through headwinds. The steel clubhead gives more control compared to a titanium clubhead. The superb cosmetics and feel of this club mirror those of its big brother(the 975D). Great fairway wood from a truly great company. Well done Titleist.

Great as advertised! I currently own the Callaway Steelhead 3 and 5 woods with the M-10 shaft, very inconsistent. The 975F gives me the confidence and flight predictability I am looking for even though I fight a deep fade. I bought the stiff shaft, probably the only mistake I made, my wife had purchased the regular shaft, but I took it back. The club is heavier than you would expect, but solid as a ROCK!!! It doesn't have the "ping" feed back that the Callaways so most "feel" that it is a dead club. They are right DEAD SOLID PERFECT. Once your head comes around, you'll know.

Recommendations: As always try before you buy. I have the 975D in regular, thought it a little whippy, so though 975F stiff, should have been regular.

Who should buy? All levels, just know what you're looking for. I wanted more predictable flight, got it. Could prehaps get the same from the Callaway with different shafts. This club doesn't seem to "toe" like the Callaway, haven't hit one yet off the toe.

This club isn't that great. I got it a year ago and still don't like it. it feels bad and i have zero confidence in it. I am looking for something else as I speak. My advice is to get something with a little more stability. I mean, they screwed up the first time they made it, whose to say they didn't do it again?

I bought one of the old design with the borethru hosel. I heard that they replaced it becouse it was junk, as most of these reveiws agree with. I emailed Titleist and they gave me a new one in exchange for my old one at no cost. The new one is a nice club. Gone is that dead thud when you hit the ball now its crisp and solid(the head is now hollow). Also the ball flight is great. The original was too low this the new one isn't high its just right. I always liked the looks of this club now I like the way it plays.

Customer Service

I was impressed with their customer service. They made a mistake with the original design of this club and they openly admit it and are willing to get the consmer the updated model at no charge. That's impressive

Orignalled owned '99 version...great looking club but performance was not as good. I have since gone to the '00 version and it ranks high in both performance and looks.

Customer Service

Just recently sent the '99 version back to Titleist Customer Service and they replace it with the '00 model - no question asked. Titleist is a top notch company in my book!

I'd just bought the new 2000 model, 13.5 with graffalloy stiff shaft. It was hard to get the ball up like callaway 3 wood. After a couple days at the range, this club is great. It creats very nice, boring ball flight. I wouldn't recommend this club for non-serious golfer.

A club that sits perfectly. Produces a great penetrating ball flight. I've tried the Firesole and the Steelhead Plus. They come close to the 975F but the Titleist wins out.

I have tried a number of 3 woods on the market. Some may have felt better off the tee or better off the ground. However, the 2000 year model 975F is the best all-around 3 wood on the market in my opinion.

Also, this club is very workable. Earlier in the year, I hit it from the fairway about 270 yards out (roughly 245-250 in the air) to eight feet while playing 35 yards of draw around a tree. Playing partners were just stunned as me. Great confidence-inspiring club that is definately worth full retail for the good to average ball-striker.

Model Reviewed: Titleist 975f 2000 model (12.5)

You may hear and read a lot of bad reviews about this club because of the the design flaw in 1999. Titleist made the shaft bore through and made the head way to stiff. It was impossible to hit because it had little to no sweet spot. Titleist openly admitted the flaw and If you bought the 1999 model, just mail it to titleist and they will send you a free 2000 model with no questions asked. As for the performance of the 2000 model, It is great. When you first buy it you might be a little scared. The head is small and beautiful and took me about 3 days to get use to. I have an EI-70 shaft in it and I can kill it. I hit it just as far as my driver. I would recommend if you are going to get a three wood to but a low loft. I bought a 12.5 and it is a perfect trajectory. It has a traditionalist feel and bores through the air.

Customer Service

Titleist is a great company and very reliable. To openly admit a problem with you club and offer a brand new 2000 model for no cost is a good deal. I was able to get a great price for my club because my pro gets the clubs at a great discount.
