Cleveland Halo Irons

Cleveland Halo Irons

DESCRIPTION

The new Halo hybrid utility club will produce shots approximately five to ten yards longer than standard long irons. The Halo hybrid utility offers an extra large sweet spot and a high moment of inertia for increased stability and forgiveness at impact making it easy to hit for golfers of all abilities. Due to its unique sole design, and low and deep center of gravity, this hybrid club is extremely versatile for shots.

cleveland definitely has a winner here. easy to hit and get airborne, it has become my favorite club to hit off my 2nd shot. i use it off the tee on long par 3's and short par 4's and it gives me confident that my next shot will be nicely set up on the fairway. my carry with the 3i (22*) equals the length of my 4 iron, so be prepared as the club plays one club length shorter. i do like the higher ball flight this club gives me. i've since tossed out my 4 iron (about 220 yds) and will look to get the 1i and 2i to replace my 5w and 3 iron. i highly recommend the halo as an alternative those who struggle to hit their long irons and those who have trouble hitting their fairway woods off the deck like me. flirted with breaking 90 my first time out with this club. hoping the added hybrids will get me in the fairway more often, and more birdie and par opportunities.

Customer Service

i bought the produce off ebay with a reputable seller. i plan to get the 1i and 2i off ebay as well. for about $50-70 with shipping included, it's hard to go wrong.

Rescue Mid 16* - was okay, but bought it in a graphite regular shaft, which was too whippy and inconsistent for me (swing speed is about 100-110 with graphite regular flexed driver).
Nike CPR 18* (iron-like version) - used a friend's on the range. i did not like it at all. was extremely inconsistent in terms of distance. not for the high handicapper. the inconsistency was probably attributed to my high handicap, and probably best suited for those trying to shape their shots.

I have a 21* Nike CPR2 Iron-wood that I got used for $40 and have used it with much success over the past 4 months. I bought the halo 22* on a whim to replace the cpr cause it looks good, and has many good reviews and was also recommended highly by my golf-guru buddy.
Well, I just couldn't get to like this club at all. Distance was about the same if slightly shorter than the cpr. No big deal really there. My problem with the halo was the random sideways spraying that was happening. The cpr was always dead straight with a very slight draw. The halo would either pull far left, go straight then hook sharply left, and a few random pushes right. I couldn't slice this thing even when I tried. My guess is this club is severly draw biased, whether by the closed face or heel weight placement.

Another thing that bothered me is the size of the head. I like the smaller cpr2 head size and got accustomed to it. Even the new cpr3s are too large for my comfort. These halos along with all the current hybrids coming out seem more woodish than ironish.

I don't want to just bash cleveland gear as I own and love a LauncherComp driver, LauncherSteel 3W, two CG10s, and my 4,5,6,7 irons are CG2s. (8,9,PW are Mizuno MP32s) Almost all my clubs are Cleveland, I'm a big fan, and I really wanted to like this halo. But after many dissapointing shots during 5-8 rounds and many dissapointing hours on the range, I'm giving up and returing to the CPR I've grown to love.

The Halo is extremely well made and looks much nicer than other competition out there. I'm sure in the right hands theese will perform wonderfully. They're just not for me. and they are priced well under most of the other offerings out there.

I'm an 11, over 50 & with the production of the Halo line, I have decided to convert my mid-irons as well as the long ones ALL to Halos. My set is Launcher 9*, 13* 3-wood, then the 1-6 Halos, Ping I3 8-9-PW, plus 52* & 58* Ping tour wedges. Notice, no 7 iron, this is because (far from the touted 'one club longer') I find the Halos play about one full club UNDER their number: 1=2 iron, 2=3 iron & so forth so the Halo 6 hits my normal 7 iron distance.

I love hitting these things. I have arthritis in my hands & was feeling a big sting from my irons digging in the turf. The Halo lessens that shock, rides through the ball more easily & gets the ball up with every club. I love 'em.

I primarily use this club off the tee because I can hit it straight (210-220 yrds.) It's very reliable; 5wood distance with 5 iron accuracy. I feel total confidence with this club and that's the secret to hitting good shots. The deep center of gravity really does help the ball go a mile in the air.

I have always been a big fan of Cleveland wedges and decided to give the hybrid a try. I had hit similar clubs such as the taylor made rescue, and heavenwood from Callaway but neither of them hold a candle to the halo. The club looks great and is much easier to get out of hairy lies due the weighting of the heel of the club. It has replaced my 5 wood and I rarely hit a 3 iron... I would recomend this club to any golfer no matter skill level. I was so impressed by the halo that my entire bag is now cleveland,Cg1 blades,588 wedges, and comp 460 driver

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Halo 2i Steel Regular

I held off getting a hybrid club because I really enjoy my Cleveland Titanium 15 & 19 degree fairway woods and I didn't need the additional temptation. Their only weakness is the occasional difficulty of getting out of thick grass and the Halo 2i has capably solved that problem.

Like some other reviewers, I had some initial difficulty getting used to it, but some work at the range solved that problem and the Halo 2i has earned my trust.

Overall, it's an excellent club that can be used reliably in every situation and as feared, my trusty fairway woods are getting a little less work every round.

Cleveland continues to make first rate equipment and I couldn't recommend this club enough!

Chose the 4i as I was trying to get rid of my 4 and 3 iron with one club to make room for more wedges. I play with a 3 and 5 wood and have 52, 56 and 60 wedges. After playing this club, I might just look to replace my 5 wood with a Halo as well.

I will have to say the first 5 hits with this club were not pretty (very low), but every hit since has been great. The ball has great distance, exactly what I was looking for. It has a mid Trajectory for me, not too high, not too low. It sounds great coming off the club. Love the sound, it is solid. Some people complain of the shaft but it performed well for me. I found the club forgiving. When compared to the taylormade rescue dual, I found the weighting better, and more forgiving. I had better success of the turf as well. I liked the dual but the halo for me was better. Can't believe I have not made the switch earlier. No more 3 or 4 iron for me.

This was one of the hardest clubs for me to find on ebay for a lefty. I figure it is because everyone who has bought one loves it.

Cleveland produced a real winner here! I kept long irons for a while too long to hit low shots from underneath trees etc. (choke down, ball back in stance). Guess what? The Halo lets you do that same shot plus many others. Can hit off "squirly" lie like hardpan, deep grass, divot & more without having to hit a perfect impact or sacrifice a ton of distance.....

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Halo 19 deg graphite reg

Until I bought this club I owned 2 hyprids in 19 degree loft namely the Ben Hogan Edge CFT and the Sonartec MD. I wanted a 19 degree club that I could use off the fairway. The Sonartec is just too difficult for me and the Hogan (whilst easier) was a little short.

I went to my local stockist with the intention of trying the new Hogan CFT TI but was left very dissapointed with it. I then, just out of interest, tried the Halo. My goodness, what a difference. Very easy to hit off the fairway with a penetrating flight and a gentle draw. On 5 or 6 occasions the draw turned into a borderline hook which made me think that the shaft was perhaps too soft for me. However the hoook was down to me falling back into my age old bad habit of strengthening my grip.

I purchased the club without hesitation and used it in the second round of my club championship the next day. This is a measure of my confidence in this club because I never use a club in an important competition without at least 4 practice rounds with it first. However it did not let me down and will replace my much loved (if not a little short) Hogan. I am giving up on the Sonartec 19 deg but will perservere with the 21 and 23 degree clubs.

I highly recommend this club.

Wow what a club! I replaced my ping 5 wood with this club and hit it just as far and consistantly in the fairway. I average 205 to 215 yards with this club and now thinking about purchasing 3i to replace my current Nike 7 wood. Ping makes a great club, but Cleveland stepped up to the plate when they introduced the Halo.
You can use this club off the box, fairway and chip out of the ruff onto the green if you want.

You won't regret purchasing this club!
