I have this club with the gun metal finish and I believe it is one of the best looking cavity back irons on the market. It also offers the nearest feel to a blade that I have used and also provides the benefit of a cavity back on mis-hits. Distance is within 2-3 yards of the longest irons I have used, but the ability to work the ball and hit the finesse shots around the greens make this an exceptional club. Customer Service No personal experience, but the asst. pro at my club has had some problems with Cleveland service. Wow! My iron search may be over! I didn't think I'd find another set of irons that I liked as much as my Apex Plus, but these are even better! Solid, forgiving, beautiful...very easy to align (very little offset). Just point and shoot! Bad swings are corrected to a degree, but feedback is such that you are not apt to repeat your mistakes! Gunmetal finish is unique--I like it! I don't know how durable the finish will be, but it frames the ball quite nicely. Adjust lofts of short irons or carry a gap wedge--150 yard pw is impressive, but not very playable! I also like the sole design of these irons--the bounce angles keep from digging and the tapered backsides keep the clubs from snagging on my backswing (one thing I loved about the 962's). I've had these for about a month and I really like them. They are as forgiving as any other cavity back out there (except maybe Callaway irons), but the feel on these is awesome. When you hit it square, you know it and when you don't you know where you've missed. The distances and accuracy are great, very consistent. The standard grips are, in fact, a bit on the small side, but you can fix that when you put new grips on. They really look great too. I like the fact that not many people have them. I have the Dynamic Gold, S300 shafts. Very solid set of irons and great value. You can definitely get a set on eBay for around $300 (or maybe even less like me!) Cleveland TA-3 Gunmetal 6.0 Rifle
Originally played with TA5's. My game has improved over the two years I have owned them and thought it was time to step up. I'll admit I was hesitant to purchase clubs with no offset with stiff shafts, but I am sure glad I did. Not only am I straighter with the TA3, but I am actually longer (lofts on the TA3s are weaker than my TA5). The Rifle shafts are great as well, solid feel even on slight mis-hits. The gunmetal's feel like butter when struck well, and aren't as harsh when you don't hit it quite right. I must admit I am a loyal Cleveland fan, but that is because they have not let me down yet. Bought these clubs about 3 weeks ago. First time on the range was ugly because I used gooseneck old Pings before these. I made the necessary adjustments to my swing and started hitting balls straighter and farther. I believe its not the equipment that makes the player but his skill. However, these clubs have shaved strokes off my game and will continue to do so because they force you to swing well to hit them consistantly. I will use these until the grooves are worn out which won't happen for a long long time. Go Buy Them! Customer Service Did not have to deal with them. Anyone and I mean anyone that is looking for the next level of a Players club, Please try these clubs. People write things to write things. I have never been a Cleveland fan. I have never picked up earlier versions of Cleveland products. I do not wear Cleveland apparel. Nor do I wear their hat. These clubs will amaze you. I dont need to say any more. GO TRY THEM. Put them up against any club you are in the market to buy. JUST TRY THEM. I cant believe how easy to use these clubs are. Moving the ball left - right....or Right - left has become an easy task. Slight miss hits while trying to move them in either direction really dont make you suffer the way other forged clubs do. and the feel is just right. Way to go Cleveland... you have made the best club golf has to offer to date. Customer Service They built my clubs 1/2" long... 2 degrees up in about 30 minutes. otherwise no other problems. If you goto one of CLEVELAND's promo's that they hold at driving ranges. TA3 Gunmetal Irons FF
I have had my TA3's for almost a year and even though my confidence with these clubs waivered once a trip back to my Titleist DCI's fixed that. Just for kicks and since I was in a lull I decided to play a round with my DCI's after having played the TA3's for 10 months. After the round I am more convinced that the TA3's are superior clubs. The feedback on the DCI's was horrible. Glad I ventured back, the DCI's are now for sale. I was reluctant to part with the DCI's but after the re-trial round I'm totally convinced that I can part with them now. One word on the TA3 long irons (3-4), took me a while to figure them out due to no offset. I had to play them more forward in my stance, helps to get them airborn. I have since purchase the TA3 D-wedge and SW. Love them, I was going to get the 900's but I like a uniform look. Another thing I really like about these clubs is their weight. You can definitely track where the head is, The stock swingweight with S300 steel is D2. |

A love affair and a horror. I wanted to make the switch to more of a players club from my X-14s. They served me well, but it was time to move on as my scores got into the low 80s. I think they''ll take me lower. I hit T300s, Hogan Apex Edge Pros, and TA3s on the range. At first it was I liked the Apex Edge Pros the most, especially hitting my best score ever. I think this was due to the intimidating smallness of the TA3 and T300 heads. I discussed this with my club pro and he told me to continue trying the other clubs. He was right it was worth the effort. I was beginning to hit the TA3s better. So I began to play rounds with them. I''ve played more than 10 rounds and many hours on the range with the TA3s in our clubs pro shop and can see a definite improvement in the consistency of my ball striking. The feedback is excellent , a trip to the range is much more productive than with my Callaways. I''m now beginning to have confidence in hitting fades and draws when they are called for. My distance accuracy is also much improved. It is amazing how the ball goes where you want it to go. The awesome extreme of this is that I holed an 180 yard shot on a very difficult par 4 that required a high fade! I''m hooked. I also played with Hogan Apex Edge Pros and the Taylormade T300''s. Both were very good as well. It was a toss up so I went with the lowest pricest set. The horror now begins. I ordered them. Customer Service A horror. The local cleveland rep confirmed delivery in a week. They didn''t arrive, but the rep said for the second week that they were on the loading dock and should arrive before the end of the wee Similar Products Used: Hogan Apex Edge Pro, Taylor Made T300 |

Cleveland TA-3 GunMetal
I have been trying new irons for about 2 months now. I''ve hit all of the usual suspects, Callaway, TM, Titleist, etc. I''ve everything from hit game improvement offset cast irons to forged blades during this time. I was set on getting the TA7''s, but I couldn''t avoid the conclusion that the TA3 GunMetals were the best sticks for me. I can honestly say that the best clubs in my hands are the TA3 Gunmetals. I hit the TA7''s and found them to be just about the best of the "improvement" style irons. I hit the new Cobra SS irons and found them to be the unquestioned king of forgiveness, especially on fat shots. But the TA3''s have a feel that no other club with any degree of forgiveness could touch. The feel of the clubs is beyond reproach (they are forged), and they still forgive the off-center hit. I can tell immediately where I hit on the face, and hitting the sweetspot is like the club just passes through the ball, nothing but swing and watch the perfect flight!! On top of everything else, they are still priced under the premium offerings from the competition. Customer Service They have always been very helpful, since I''ve asked too many questions ofer the past 2 months.
