This is my second review on these clubs. I have had them now for around 8 months I think. I have gone through up and downs with these clubs. My game tends to change erratically every month or so. When I first got them my swing was very fine tuned and these clubs were magic. Then I had about 4 really bad months when I could barely hit them. Now I am coming around again. Thru all of this though I never lost my love for these clubs. The trajectory is fantastic for the Wedge thru 5 iron. The long irons tend to go a little lower than i like, but that is good off the tee.

They are not forgiving. Unless you have a grooved swing I would stay away from these clubs. They will make the game very difficult.

When you are swinging well there is no more workable club that I have found. Due to the swing weight ( i think) I hit a very nice draw with these irons. Other clubs I hit straight or slight fade. The trajectory is very penetrating with a decent amount of spin. Not tons of spin though. No major suck backs. This could just be my swing though. My ISI's spin more than these. They also hit it higher though.

Distance: They are average. Nothing exceptional. Not short though.

Feel: I haven't found anything better. They are addictive.

In summary, I would recommend these if you are a very good ballstriker or like to practice alot and plan on getting better. They are tons of fun on the range.

First of all, I hope reading reviews with 2 words such as "THEY SUCK" will not stop you from trying these awsome clubs. I can understand that not everyone will like these club but it doesn't mean these clubs are inferior.

Now, on with the review...
Feel & Forgiveness: Typical Mizuno forged irons. When hit in the center, there is almost no feeling of vibration. Toe hits are more forgiving than previous MP models but still gives that STING like most blades. These clubs are heavy compare to other forged irons. According to a local pro, this is because of the "Grain Flow Forged" process.

Distance & Trajectory: Decent distance with low trajectory. The only problem I have is having the ball bite with long iron shots. On a 200 yard shot, I normally hit a 3 iron and the trajectory is so low that the ball sometimes roll off the back of the green.

I'm not sure why Mizuno decided to make these clubs with U grooves. Maybe it's because the pros prefer U grooves.

Overall, these clubs are probably the best forged blades for now. Give'em a try, maybe you'll like them, too.

hit it flush - then concentrate on the feel transmitted to your hand, then hear the sound at impact (SHEEEeeew!!!) - and watch the ball fly with BEAUTIFUL trajectory... then put it in the bag and see them shine.. i mean.. SHINE...

Forgiving. When hit on toe, it goes almost the same distance because it rolls more, although you will know where you hit it and the ball will carry less. When hit pure, it feels like you cut across the ball with a knife - slightly hard feeling than some other clubs on the market, but that's what most golfers like about mizuno clubs. Distance is same as my old eye 2, but the ball carries more and it backs off with some spin (I am not a good spinner.. maybe it's just because the set is still very new). I hit a cupple of shanks in my first round that travels about 3 yards to the right, though (and it doesn't hurt that much.. the club stings the most when you hit it VERY thin.. you gotta be prepared for that - bring some extra tylenol for the pain relief) I bought this club because the weight and swingweight were just right for me (it's very heavy club with average swingweight). I think I gained some distance on long irons (3, 4), but I am not sure yet.

I was reluctant to go to a blade because I don't work the ball (although I hit knockdowns alot), but I think it's the most accurate club out there with very consistent distance control. Very good in the rough because of less bounce and heavy club head.

I have tried many clubs, but I think it's more forgiving than most other forged clubs (pro II, hogan, etc..), but maybe it's just me. I am just comfortable over this club. If you are a decent ball striker (i don't think it matter where you are shooting, some people have great short game and so-so ball hitting. If you are not afraid of 200 yard par three and doesn't carry a 9-wood, I am pretty sure you can hit this thing), don't be afraid and give it a try. This club might save strokes off your game more than game improvement clubs.

Overall: Very good.

no idea.. but I heard it takes 3 weeks to customize a set, which is kinda slow for today's standard.. but maybe it's just because it's a forged club.. i don't know...

WOW! Where do I start. Well I use to shoot in the mid to high 90's with TM supersteel before I got the mp33. Everyone told me not to get them. It's a player's club, blades, hard to hit, you can't hit them.. blah blah blah. Well to all those people that think high handicappers can't hit blades or should be afraid to hit blades.. BLAH, I shave off more than 10 stokes of my game with these clubs. I was a 27 handicap 2 month ago and now a 13. These are easier to hit than the 990’s. Here is why I decided to get the mp33. First, why spend thousands of dollars buying different sets of irons until u get the best (Mizuno). Second the mp33 will make me have a better swing since they are blades, either I grow into them or QUIT golfing. After I got these clubs I have been shooting in the low 80's almost 70s at times. I don't know what it is, but I know it has to do a lot of these clubs. I love the way it looks at address. My punch shots are so much better with these clubs then clubs with offsets. I didn't give up any distances or height on my shots. I was told rifle shafts have a higher flight. When I hit a solid shot it feels AWESOME!!! Now I know what a perfect shot feels like. Thanks mizuno!!

I love these clubs. Softest irons I have ever hit. Workable as hell. Good distance, and wonderful feedback. I used this site as my primary means of selection before deciding on this club, and there is one thing I noticed that chapped my a$$. If your handicap is higher than 6 or so, there is only one reason to play blades, and that is strictly for improvement. If you are looking for a club that will have immediate impact on your game, and your handicap is higher than 6 or so, then decide on another product. You absolutely must have a repeating swing to be able to get the most out of any forged blade. Period. If you shoot in the 80's or higher, please don't whine about the club being bad. If it were a bad club, you wouldn't see so many of them on tour right now. Rather than whining, work on your swing. When you start hitting it pure, and you still don't like the club, then feel free to give your feedback, but if you hit this club purely, there is no way you won't like it. As for those who purchase blades in order to improve, I will always have room in my foursome for you.

I tested all of the other blades out there and for me it was between the MP-33's and the Cleveland TA-1's. I went with the Mizuno's because they felt just a little softer. I have played two rounds with them so far and I am growing to really like these clubs. At this point they are about a half club shorter-probably due mostly to the s-300 shafts. I was playing the memphis 10's that came with my old Callaway X-12's. So far what I am most in awe of with these clubs is the amount of backspin they impart on the ball. I played in windy conditions and with a tail wind, out of the rough(not the first cut) the ball hit the green and backed up about 12 inches - every time. I am very impressed. The sweet feeling and beautiful trajectory when these are struck well is so satisfying. I strongly recommend forged clubs to everybody, any skill level should play a forged club! I also feel that the blade design is not as difficult to play as many of us have been told. I agree with the other posts on this site in that if you are working to improve your game blades can help - if for no other reason than to make you concentrate a little more. As I play more with these clubs I will continue my review. I think this an invaluable web site for golfers of all levels and applaud all the reviewers. This site helped me choose which clubs to try out. Try the Mizuno's.

these clubs are as solid as they look. obviously, these are a player's club, so i guess you need pretty decent ball striking skills to hit these bad boys. these are a bit shorter than my old X-12's, but i was looking at the specs and the X-12's have much stronger lofts which is why they're longer. i thought maybe the S300 shaft was too stiff for me, but i figure now that it's actually the lofts that make my shots 5 yds shorter per club. i tried my buddy's MP-14's, and i was thinking, hell, i can hit these blades... so i got the MP-33's. they are sweeeeet when u hit the sweetspot. there's no feeling like hitting a forged blade flush. plus, these clubs just look so sweet. just having these in my bag make me feel like i'm a better player. haha. give these a try. when u hit a pure shot, you'll be sold on these bad boys, i promise.

I don't own a set but as soon as I break 80, I will toss out my old Mizuno True and get these sweet irons!!!! I think the shop owner is getting sick of me trying all the time and not buying.

I haven't had the chance to hit balls on the range, just the hitting area inside a golf shop. Even with the head taped, I can feel how soft they are when hitting on the sweet spot. Like all Mizuno forged irons, they are not easy to hit for high handicap players. For mid to low handicap golfers, you will love these as soon as you hold the club in your hand!

As for the shaft, Dynamic Gold S300, just can't go wrong!

By far, hands down, without a doubt the most apealing(chicks even dig um), softest(like a baby's booty), most playable(Tiger who?)irons on the market period.... I tried everything in the pro shop, I mean everything - some companies are making blades, but are no comparison by a long shot. I have true temper s-300 shafts in mine and I really don't think any shaft could possibly be better, except maybe the x-100 whitch I will be swicthing to as I get stronger. Don't just order rifle shafts just because they know how to do marketing, for your own sake , try them out first. I thank the lord that they just happened to recieve these in the store, otherwise I might be playing an inferior club that would give me somewhat of a disadvantage to another player at my same level. Bottom line, if you hit em pure when you try them out , you'll wonder why they don't cost at least $2000, when competitors are charging prices even close to the mp-33. I used to play competitive billiards, and I had one stick that costs $2500, with these I get I get eight of em for $799. Easy choice. Put a couple of mp series wedges, a Titelist 975j or d driver, 975f fairway wood, and a Scotty pro platinum in the bag and your set. All you have to do is pay about a million dollars a ball after that.
