This is a follow up review. I have been playing and practicing with these irons for 2-3 weeks almost daily, at least when the weather would let me. I had a chance to play recently in extremely wet conditions, and the sole performed extremely well in these conditions unlike the MP-29. If you hit the little ball before the big one, the sole performance doesn't matter that much, but it is nice to feel the club slide through the turf, rather than cutting into it. I am amazed at the trajectory that these irons provide. The ball flies incredibly high for me. I am able to keep it down when I need to, but my standard trajectory is very high on all irons. I have been playing blades for the past 8 years, since the Hogan channel backs in 1993 or so, and these are far and away the best blades I have ever played. A definite improvement over the MP-29, which is also a wonderful golf club, but one that requires much more precision to play consistently. I had a set of Maruman Curtis Strange Blades a while back and sold them with much regret ever since. Well, that regret is long gone since the MP 33's.

the best forged iron period! have tried the hogan apex not up to par with the mizuno. very soft but yet solid feel, craftsmanship is second to none, forgiving at times, you really dont have to be a great ball striker to use these, just need to be consistant. middle handicapers could easily use this set of irons. shaping shots not a problem, and all this stuff i hear about bag wear(dinging of heads) is alot better than the hogans. price always could be better but your paying for quality not quantity! the best blade right now on the market. give em a shot you wont be dissapointed!

You won't find a better blade, the soft forging make these the best feeling and best workable irons on the market, it's no wonder they are #1. Handicap does not matter, if you a decent ball striker, you have to give these a try, you'll understand what all the great reviews are about. I'll be switching to these in two weeks after I get paid, I can't wait to get rid of my crappy Titleist 1994 blades. Just having the MP-33's in my bag makes me feel like a solid player.

Unable to hit the Mizuno EZ but desiring a forged iron, I had decided on Hogan Apex Plus. I had hit all the big names in the cast clubs - Ping, Callaway, Cleveland, Wilson etc. but truly felt the difference with forged irons.

I began hitting the TaylorMade 300 forged iron and believed it performed slightly better than the Hogan and think it was probably the shaft. The fitter then handed me an MP-33 and suggested I compare it. I had heard about this club but didn't believe I had the game to play it - mid 80's player (poor putting). I was immediately impressed. I hit very straight, very long shots on a consistent basis. When putting a VERY poor swing on the ball the result was a VERY poor shot. But when I hit it on the sweetspot, Oh baby, the ball could not have gone straighter. Off center hits still provided good distance. I was also concerned about the "low, boring flight" I had read about. The ball actually flew higher than with my current Armour irons.

I am not a "scratch" golfer, far from it, but I can hit irons consistently. I would urge anyone who is interested in forged irons and has hit Hogans, TaylorMade, Cleveland, MacGregor etc., to hit these irons. I think you may be pleasantly surprised at the playability of these clubs for the "average" golfer.

Last, if you are like me and play irons for a long time (my last irons were purchased in 1987) I urge you to spend the extra time and money to get professionally fitted with the right shafts, lie, grip, etc. that is right for you. Rocky Mountain Golf did a superb job for me. Thank you Brent!

Ordered 5/1/01 and awaiting 6/15/01 delivery. A long wait but I believe my patience will be worth the wait. The Rifle 5.5 shaft was the big holdup. The Dynamic Gold shafts were available immediately.

Solid and pure. Have never played an MP-14 or 29, but these are sweeter than my Apex PCs. Very consistent. Can hit the 3 almost as well as the 9. Tried the Apex 99s and they felt hard as a rock, had to go back to the PCs. Then I tried the MP-33. Hit it only 10 times off the carpet and knew they would work. They play as good as they look. I hit the expensive cavity backs, but put them down after about two or three swings. They are like NutraSweet, they can only fool you if you can stay away from sugar long enough.

This is only the second set of irons I've owned. I finally parted company with my old 985's after about 15 years of faithful service. The only irons I found that could make me switch were the MP-33's and after 20 rounds with them, I think I'll be hitting these for a long time to come. They offer unmatched feel, control and confidence. I added about 10-15 yards to each club and now can also feel far more confident about trying to more regularly shape shots. I am not a scratch golfer by any stretch, but I believe in developing a solid, consistent swing first, not having my flaws compensated for by my clubs. For those of you who want a great iron that is challenging and the most rewarding there is (and will help you improve your game by making your swing work better), there is no better iron on the market.

These are the best sticks I have ever played bar none.I have played with many brands and these are the best.Bob and JJ obviously can't play a lick.If they are scratch golfers I will quit golf and never play again. They are forgiving, long and accurate, and when the sweetspot is hit the feel is inexplicable.Perfection.I have heard that Titleist is releasing Tiger's blades, and I am sure they will be great clubs as well, but I garauntee they will cost a lot more than $700.My suggestion to Bob and JJ sell your clubs, and buy some game.

Thes are the best clubs I have ever owned or played. No one can argue the beauty of these clubs or the playability.Bob and JJ and anyone else who complains about these clubs simply can't play golf.I would give either of those scratch golfers a stroke a hole on their home course.Anyway they are easy to hit for blades, they go long, and they are deadly accurate. The feel of one hit on the sweetspot is incredible. As far as the new Titleist blades being better,I don't know, but I do know they will cost more than $700.

First of all, anyone who claims to be a "scratch" golfer, and does not like these irons, is merely attempting to blow smoke up our asses. It is simply not possible to be able to hit pure shots the majority of the time and NOT like these. They are easily the purest feeling blades I have ever tried, and I have played blades from Ram, Cleveland, Maruman, Titleist, Macgregor, you name it. If you don't like these, you simply aren't a good enough player to even try to hit them.

The mp33 is a fine blade. Nice soft feel and fantastic control of the ball. I agree with Sean, they are a great looking club as well. I have played the last 6 months with a custom set of Titliest 990's and will admit that they have made me a lazy golfer. The thing about these clubs are that they will make you work harder to put a good swing on the ball. Obviously a more concerted effort usually will deliver a better score. My first two days out I shot my regular game. I only expect to get better. If you are interested in being a better golfer, give the mp 33 a try. When you hit if right on the nut, wow. You'll know then what I mean.
