For 3 years I played Mizuno MX 23 clubs. I got my handicap down to 14 and figured it was time for a “players” set of clubs. I settled on a set of Callaway X20 Tours. For all of last season, I struggled to break 90.

I have played a few rounds this year and decided a change was needed. I went to a local range with the intention of trying all of the leading brands again. However, the first club that I picked up was the new Mizuno MX 200. After about five swings, I realised what I was missing. I hit each ball straight, high and where I aimed; something that I haven’t been able to do all year. I didn’t bother hitting any of the other clubs, I simply arranged a custom fit for Thursday for the MX 200s. These are seriously easy clubs to hit.

I have also read a lot about the comparison between these and the MX23s. When you look at the two clubs, there is not much different. Maybe my view is coloured by the year with the Callaways, but I believe that these are easier to hit than the MX23s.

At my level of golf, I am not interested in “working the ball” and I believe any golfer in the mid-teen and up handicap level that talks about moving the ball is basically talking crap and maybe if they concentrated on hitting the ball straight, their handicaps may come down.

I have to believe that any of the bad reviews of these clubs are simply down to the man at the other end of the club, I know that if I persisted with the Callaways, I am sure that they would have come round, but I just don’t have the time for that effort. Therefore if you are like me, you have kids, work and want to enjoy your Sunday fourball at a low teens handicap level (or better if your ability is better than mine) with little or no effort, then have a serious look at these clubs.

Oh my F***ing Gosh!! I read reviews but have never written one. I had to for these irons. I used to play the Callaway Steelheads (2003 model) and enjoyed them but figured it was time for an upgrade. Looked at all the new clubs starting with Callaway, Taylor Made, etc. and hitting all of them. Now I'm not new to golf but when I hit these, It felt like butter and were easily a club longer and the worst shot I hit was about ten yards right. These are very forgiving without losing the sweet forged feel. These clubs are incredibly balanced, forgiving, workable enough for 95% of golfers, and as softer than anything I've ever hit. When hit on the center it feels as if there was no ball there. If you like hitting straight shots that feel wonderful - you wont be dissappointed. No buyers' remorse here!!
Mizuno got it right...they are better quality and measurable less expensive than the others! I'm giving them a 5 because any better and I wouldn't have to even swing them but where's the fun in that?

now that i'm 53 i thought its time to step up to better clubs. demoed TM R7s Calaway x22s and both are really good specially the R7s. But the Mizuno MX200s just blows them out the water. All i can say is these clubs are great. similar or bettr distance as the others, better control and absolutly far superior feel. and much bettr looking. I must say if you are in the market for a set of irons try these well worth the extra few $.

Just had to write a review about these clubs , was previously using tour model clubs ( Wilson , Taylor Made & MacGregor) and since turning 55 thought is was time to move to a club that would give me a bit more help. Tried TM Burner, Titleist AP1 , Callaway X22 and Bridgestone but got to say the Mizuno MX200 was far superior in feel , flight , control and distance. The only problem is that i should have switched earlier.
Not the cheapest option but you get what you pay for with these clubs.

I read many reviews but I hardly ever write them. I had to for these irons. My hcp hovers between 7 and 12 depending on how the stars are lined up. I used to play the Titleist AP2s and enjoyed them when I was closer to my 7 self. Now days I am an 11 and the AP2 6 iron and up were punishing me to no avail. Finally, i decided to go with something more forgiving without losing the sweet forged feel. I have been really down on my game and these clubs just brought me back to life. I tried the TM burners but I can't stand TMs marketing and gimmicks. Not a big callaway fan - the clubs look to clunky to me. I used to play the Mizumo MP32s so I decided to give the mx 200s a chance. These clubs are incredibly balanced, forgiving, workable enough for 95% of golfers, and as soft as the AP2 and Mizuno MP32s. When hit on the center it feels so good you want to drop a ball adn do it again. Off center shots don't feel as good but it doesn't send a "you suck" message up your arms and into your spine like blades do. A very balanced club for 5-15 hcp. If your're a real player and work the ball every shot you make (not just when you have to - which is what i do) these may not be the clubs for you. If you're happy hitting a nicely flighted ball that goes dead straight - you wont be dissappointed.

The MX200's are the worst irons I've ever had.

I was fitted for them by a pro but they are NOT the clubs for me. I've been able to work the ball since I was 14 years old, but with these clubs, the ball goes left unless I put a severe slice move on my swing. The sweet spot is hard to hit, too.

The day I went back to my Super Steel knock-offs, I had my best round of the year...76. I can hit the ball where I'm aiming it again!

I was on the market for a new set of irons and i tried several irons out. Cleveland cg reds, titleist ap2,ap1,calaways loads more and the mizuno mx 200 were by far the nicest clubs! the feel, flight, response you get, everything is just perfect. A lovely little draw most of the time but easy to hit nice cuts. No worries hittin 3,4 irons there forgiving shorter irons are great. 8 down to pw have great spin but if your close to greens be carefull as ball flys off club face so just get used to them. hoping to break into 70's more often now with these sticks. Buy these if your on the hunt no question!

Have only had these for a couple of weeks but they are by far the easiest irons to hit that I've owned. The 4 & 5 irons almost feel like they hit the ball on their own and are every bit as easy to hit as the higher lofted irons. I like the forgiveness in the longer irons with the cavity to help get the ball in the air while the more muscle back design in the short irons really helps to hit more of a boring trajectory. I've never played with forged irons before this but I won't be going back. Even though my normal ball flight is a draw it's easy to hit a cut when necessary without much effort. I was concerned about a loss of distance but these are easily about 1 club longer then my Clevelands, possibly due to me making a better quality of strike with the ease with which these swing. I've had to adjust some around the greens as the short irons put more bite on the ball and I've had chip shots checking up quicker than I'm used to. I'd always heard that Mizuno made quality forged irons but assumed they were a company making clubs strictly for the better players. With these someone with a mid teens handicap like me can get the workability that better players are used to while maintaining most of the forgiveness that I need. I got these with the Dynalite XP Gold shafts in regular flex and had heard some negatives about the shafts but for me they work extremely well with these heads. Now that I've got equipment that will help me instead of fighting against it I'm looking forward to dropping the handicap into single digits.

Great irons. First time with forged clubs. Will never go back to cast. Never thought irons could feel this soft. Workability and forgiveness with these irons is almost automatic. Very little distance loss on toe or heel shots. Super accurate. Irons have great spin coming into greens (with a high spin ball).
