Mizuno MX-23 Irons

Mizuno MX-23 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The MX-23 is the most forgiving iron available. Mizuno engineers produced the MX-23TM to have an even lower, deeper center of gravity and larger sweet area.

It would be hard for me to say something about these clubs that hasn't already been said here. I honestly believe these are some of the best irons a beginner can buy. I have been playing since March and have had absolutely no problems with my iron play what so ever (putting, and driving are a different story). I have hit other brands with not nearly as much accuracy or distance as my mizunos.I got mine on ebay for around $300.00. So you can get them without a huge price tag. All in all I would say if you need/want game improvement irons get these.

I have recently just bought the new MX-23 irons and i have to say that they are the best irons I have ever hit. They have increditable forgiviness and it is hard to miss a shot with these irons. I am only 16 but i play as the second seat on the golf team and i currently play in a summer tour, I am a pretty good golfer and usually shot around par but my advice to anybody at any skill level to consider these irons first over any others.

I had a set of Nike irons before I bought the Mizuno's but I have to say as far as I am considered i just wasted my money I payed about $800 for them but for 500 dollars cheaper i got the Mizuno's that seem to be much much better.

Got my handicap down to 10 & was stuck there, worked on my swing & was hitting my woods & driver pretty good but kept hooking my g2 irons & realized there was way to much offset so I decided it was time for some new irons & after extensive research, mainly reading reviews decided on the mx 23 or 25,went for the 23 because they are mizunos best selling iron, & there were hardly any reviews on the 25s, plus the many reviews on the mx23s were almost all rave reviews.
Having found me a set on ebay 3- pw d, gold r 300 lites in good condition, I have now used them a dozen or so times & am very happy with them, no more hooks, great ball flight & good feedback, and forgiving .The feel of forged is nice & they look superb, thought the shafts may have been a little light but once I got them & used them they are just right.
I never used a 3 iron before (7 wood)but now I use it instead of the 7 wood & I still cant get over how good it is & how easy it is to use, also I really like how the weight is gradually moved back as the clubs get longer.
I feel these irons are perfect for the mid h, cap, you still have the forgivness of a cavity but the feel of forged, & are workable, I couldnt hit a fade to save my life with the g2s!.
These clubs are no longer being produced and as a result they are holding there value well, I think they will become a bit of a classic, like the eye 2s were.
If any one has used the 23s & the 25s please let me know how the 25s compare with these . Thank you.

I am a 14 handicap, weekend golfer, averaging three rounds a month. Have played several irons over the years, from knock offs to top of the line. Recently have used Cobra FP and Taylor Made RAC OS2. Traded both sets in due to them causing me to ballon the ball, losing distance. While trading in, decided to try a used set of MX-23 irons. Hit them well in the store, so made the purchase. First round shot an 83 and really enjoyed the feel of the clubs and got ten yards more distance back. Second round, shot my best round in 20 years of playing golf, a 78, with only one birdie! Clubs were dead on for distance and direction. I hope they maintain this feel and I can continue to improve. I highly recommend these clubs to the mid-handicapper.

Superb Irons, just feel great when you hit a good shot, very lofty flight, definitely half a club shorter than my previous clubs (Mcgregor Tourneys) but definitely a nicer club to play with - sweet as a nut as they say. Feel very confident over any shot with these clubs. Bit pricy, 645 Euros, but worth every penny

I swore i would never write a golf review again because everytime i do i seem to fall out of love with the club i reviewed a few rounds later but im not worried this time as i KNOW i have finally found the right irons for my game.
I have hit nearly EVERY iron on the market (I worked at a golf store) and i can honestly say that no other irons ive tried can compare to both the feel and performance i get from these.
They are about an club and a half longer than my last set (Titleist 804os) and have a much better feel even though both are forged. I struggled at first with the Mizunos because you had to really put some effort into making the 804s perform but after i got use to the MX23s i now just let the club swing itself and am getting the best results of my 12 year golf life.
I would highly recomend them to anyone and they still look brand new after more than 20 rounds played.

Follow-up to previous review (as promised)

Can the arrows really make an indian that much better???

Well yes and no!

I've put a lot of time in lately on improving my game. Come July, I will have been playing only 2 years. I am seeing dramatic improvements in all areas of my game as a lot of the ways to improve make now make sense.

That being said, the MX 23s have proven to be the catlyst that has me practicing more and playing better.

After 2 1/2 months with these irons (I live in Florida and play or practice all year long), the honeymoon is still going.

I am pulling out the 3,4, and 5 irons with confidence. While more and more players are going with hybrids, I love pulling out that 3 iron on a 200+ yard par 3.

With all the irons, even the long ones, I am hitting some really pretty shots....the ones you watch and just enjoy with amazement...that >I< just did that. These shots are becoming more the norm.

I pulled out the Cally Fusions the other day just to see if the Mizzys were really all that. I did hit the Callys well but...I didn't enjoy them anywhere near as much as the Mizzys.

Florida can be hard on clubs. You play year round down here and...the ground is sandy so it's very abrasive. After 2 1/2 months of constant pounding (almost every day at range or playing), the clubs look almost perfect.

I've scanned ebay from time to time and since its golf season in most of the US now, the prices seem to be higher than I paid for mine (brand new...385.00 in graphite). However, they are still plenty of great deals out there, especially when compared to the new MX 25s... I hit the 25s at the PGA show in Orlando. The feel is very similar to the 23s (I dont care what Mizuno says about the differences) but...the 23s are slightly more player oriented. I like the set up appearance better (though only slightly) and I like the soles better on the 23s.

My avg. distance with each iron:
PW - 130
9 - 140
8 - 150
7 - 160
6 - 170
5 - 180
4 - 190
3 - 200

+/- for wind and temp.

These irons are going no where soon. The grips kinda suck but...not going to change them 'til they need it.

I've hit a lot of different irons since purchasing these just to compare. None hit that caused any second thoughts. I hit a friends MP 30s most often. Very similar feel but more forgiveness in the 23s.

I left the course, called into my local golf shop and bought a set the same day. all I can say is they are ace!!!!!

Purchased the MX-23 last spring ('06) after looking in depth at several (Ping G5, i5, Callaway X-19, Titleist 705). A good friend who is a scratch golfer plays t he MP-33 and swore by Mizuno. I'd never struck forged clubs before but my first solid contact felt "buttery" smooth.

I worked hard at my game last summer and brought my handicap down fm 19 to 12. I don't necessrily attribute this to the clubs as much as to increased play/practice, but liking the feel/look/playability of the clubs didn't hurt.

I shoot in the low to mid 80s and feel like these are the clubs for me for quite awhile. They're clubs that have forgiveness, but also feel and playhability that will allow me to grow as a player.

I wish I was good enough to play the MP32 which are beautiful clubs, but had to be realistic reather than idealistic.

I have looked at the new MX-25, but don't forsee them in my budget anytime soon, nor do they please my eye as much as the MX-23.

Well to modest these clubs are the best clubs I have ever hit. If your the higher handicap you wont struggle with this club. I only tried the clubs once and that was just the 7-iron and from that moment I needed to buy it. I played the next weekend at a friendly stableford and ended up getting 44 points of a 22 handicap so it really does help. Instead of using a 9-iron in some situations I'd use a Pitching Wedge because you only need a good tempo swing and the ball travels high into the air not losing distance.

Customer Service

I managed to pick these clubs up for £170 good condition considering that brand new it cost £400 it's still worth that though.
