These are fine clubs for someone like me who prefers a smaller iron head. The heads are a very handsome low-profile design, and look really solid and easy to aim at address. They are just as forgiving as my Callaway X-12 irons, and at least 10 yards longer with a less-strenuous swing that minimizes swing errors. The trajectory is ideal in my estimation, better than the X-12s which I feel launch the ball too high. You have to be careful to sweep the longer irons (5, 4 and 3) as you would a fairway wood since the heads have a tendency to dig and cause fat shots if you hit down on them too sharply. It is common knowledge, of course, that even a great set of clubs will do little or nothing for you if a decent basic swing is missing, and these clubs are no exception to this rule. They are designed, however, to minimize the bad effects of typical off-center hits by the positioning of weight progressively from heel to toe as you move from PW through to the 3 Iron. My experience has been that this works surprisingly well without making it hard to work the ball. The square "U Grooves" help to spin the ball from light rough, but they seem to shave some surlyn off the cover as did the first Pings before the company corrected this problem. I told Orlimar about this via Email, and received a prompt reply offering to examine them and replace the heads if necessary, although they thought the problem sometimes occurs with some new clubs, and should lessen and eventually disappear with use. This speaks well for their Customer Service policy. The bottom line is that these are excellent sticks that can currently be had at a bargain price! Customer Service I did during my review. Customer Service impressed me as being excellent. Similar Products Used: Most recently, Callaway X-12 Irons and before them a wide array of top name brands. |

These irons look and feel like a blade with a small cavity. The way Orlimar designed the weight to shift for each club is an awesome feature. The Lamkin grips, precision flighted shafts, and excellent clubhead design, all for $300 makes this the deal to beat! Customer Service Sean at Golf&Tennisworld.com put my order together very promptly and complete. Very satisfied! Similar Products Used: Ping i3, ZMod 3(knockoff but nice), and some various blades. |

Just started playing again after a 4 year layoff. these clubs are straight, long and forgiving. Hit them anywhere on the face and they still work except for the expected loss of distance. I have carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands and a finger that was previously broken and gives me hell if there's too much shaft vibration/shock. Glad to say I can play these clubs without any pain at all even though they have steel shafts.. Virtually no vibration or shock. Orlimar made these to have a softer feel and they accomplished that goal... Similar Products Used: Cobra CXI, Nicklaus VF,Taylor Made Supersteel. |

I cannot understand why these irons have not been promoted better by Orlimar, or why they have not been received better by the golf world. In short, they are fabulous. As I understand it, the SF in SF302 stands for "softer than forged" and they sure feel like it. The Royal Precision flighted shafts are some of the best I have played. For less than $300 on eBay you can have a terrific set of irons. As you will note, I have played lots of other clubs so my review is not without experience. I got this with a tri-metal fairwood with EI-70 as a package deal of $500, so I think the irons only cost me $300. These irons have solid feel but the head are smaller than other cavity irons. Otherwise, they are straighter and further than most. However, not the best around but a great deal nevertheless. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: Firesole, X-14, Mizuno Pro II & E-Z |

These are great feeling irons. Distance and control of clubs is really good. Since I started using these clubs my distances have all increased for every club. Hitting the PW 145! Long Irons (3&4) can be difficult to hit and you can really feel it if you don't find the sweet spot, but overall they are great and have a real nice look to them as well. Feel is excellent in the short irons, but the trajectory in the long clubs is a bit higher than I would like (although this is not really a complaint). I am not a fan of oversize clubs and these sure aren't. These iron set up much like my old Apex PCs, but are much more forgiving. A good value and an excellent club. Similar Products Used: None |
