Orlimar SF302 Irons

Orlimar SF302 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The rich finish is indicative of its high chromium content with just a touch of copper. The distinctive heel spine adds a dimension of style while lowering the center of gravity behind the axis and expanding the sweet spot.

These irons look and feel like a blade with a small cavity. The way Orlimar designed the weight to shift for each club is an awesome feature. The Lamkin grips, precision flighted shafts, and excellent clubhead design, all for $300 makes this the deal to beat!

Just started playing again after a 4 year layoff. these clubs are straight, long and forgiving. Hit them anywhere on the face and they still work except for the expected loss of distance. I have carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands and a finger that was previously broken and gives me hell if there's too much shaft vibration/shock. Glad to say I can play these clubs without any pain at all even though they have steel shafts.. Virtually no vibration or shock. Orlimar made these to have a softer feel and they accomplished that goal...

I cannot understand why these irons have not been promoted better by Orlimar, or why they have not been received better by the golf world. In short, they are fabulous. As I understand it, the SF in SF302 stands for "softer than forged" and they sure feel like it. The Royal Precision flighted shafts are some of the best I have played. For less than $300 on eBay you can have a terrific set of irons. As you will note, I have played lots of other clubs so my review is not without experience.

I got this with a tri-metal fairwood with EI-70 as a package deal of $500, so I think the irons only cost me $300. These irons have solid feel but the head are smaller than other cavity irons. Otherwise, they are straighter and further than most. However, not the best around but a great deal nevertheless.

These are great feeling irons. Distance and control of clubs is really good. Since I started using these clubs my distances have all increased for every club. Hitting the PW 145! Long Irons (3&4) can be difficult to hit and you can really feel it if you don't find the sweet spot, but overall they are great and have a real nice look to them as well.

Feel is excellent in the short irons, but the trajectory in the long clubs is a bit higher than I would like (although this is not really a complaint). I am not a fan of oversize clubs and these sure aren't. These iron set up much like my old Apex PCs, but are much more forgiving. A good value and an excellent club.

Love the appearance and the concept, especially liked the Ebay price I found for a once-hit set. Have played twice and hit a couple buckets with these now. Feel like purely struck blades but are nicely forgiving. Compact heads, buttery feel. The Flighted Precision steel shafts give great trajectory. Clubs set up very well, swing easy and really spank the ball. Fades and draws are relatively easy, but will hit the ball straight all day. Best I've hit. Well-balanced, well matched, high quality appearance and great feel! Good for low to mid handicap. They're keepers.
