TaylorMade 300 Irons

TaylorMade 300 Irons

DESCRIPTION

From TaylorMade: "The traditional look comes from the thin topline, mirror chrome finish, straight leading edge and minimal offset. The modern conveniences of optimal weighting and center of gravity are achieved through TaylorMade's exclusive trapezoidal cavity pad, which is placed behind the impact zone to maintain ball velocity and preserve feel. Like the 320 and 360 irons, the long irons in the Forged 300 set have negative bounce to help create lift, while the short irons have positive bounce to prevent ballooned shots."

Nice looking clubs. The feel is great on good shots. On bad shots there is a little feedback, but it doesn't feel like your hitting a rock. Overall a good glub.

I just got the irons and i like them a lot. They are very forgiving and they hit the ball longer than my last irons. My scores have improved a lot and the more i play them the lower my scores get. I only payed $275 for them to. I suggest everyone should try them especially for the price you can get them.

I was in the market for a new set of irons and originally bought the TM RAC O/S. These irons were not for me. Too much game improvement not enough feel. When I saw a set of forged Taylor Made 300 irons with 6.0 Rifle shafts on Ebay and bought them. When I first tried them I hit everything to the right, so had the lie adjusted and they hit straight now. They are about a 1/2 a club longer than I am used to. I have to say they are very easy to hit even the 3 and 4 irons. Nothing feels better to me than a forged iron. I'd recommend these clubs to anyone. The rifle 6.0 shafts are fine(they feel like regular flex although they are suppose to be stiff.

Bought these undemoed over ebay based on other reviews here. Was a little concerned that they may be too hard to hit for my 11 HC, but they are very impressive clubs. During their 1st practice round, I was hitting multiple balls out of thick rough - all 5 balls were constantly within 10 metres of each other with a 4 iron! Excellent consistency and forgiveness for a shallow CB. Off-sweetspot hits only lost less than half a club for me. Feel is very good also, it is immediately apparent how well you struck the ball. Workability is great, I very rarely try to work the ball either way, but I could certainly move the ball on demand with these irons. Taller golfers - I have the feeling that these clubs are slightly flatter in lie angle. My prev sets have all been adjusted 2* flat for me but these ones have hit straight and true with no adjustment(?). Overall, I'd recommend these clubs to any good ball striker. Probably not a good option for high-cappers though, the forgiveness is present, but not enough to correct anything other than a slightly off shot. Fantastic price for top-end clubs - they still retail for over $1000 USD here in NZ.

Let me start off by saying that these are the clubs for my game. About a year or so ago it was about time to shake things up a big on my irons. I had been playing the Titleist 962's for about three years, and while they were great, I just wanted something that could really take me to the next level. Unfortunately, that level was at that time to the Callaway X-14 Pro Series, as I had heard so many good things about the forgiveness and whatnot. But what I found out is that the feel really isn't existant. I wanted to make these clubs work but I couldn't get a feel. I went back to the Titleist's for a while but still wanted something else. Well, I was observing that many of the majors that weren't being won by Tiger were won with the TM 300's, and while I know that pro's can hit it straight with a shovel it showed me that they were a proven club that could get the job done. After some searching and patience, I found some spec'd for me: +1, 2* up, 6.5 flighted rifle. These irons are great. A blade with a touch of forgiveness, one I can shoot eighty with comfortably, or one I can shoot 69 with comfortably (yes, thank you). I have the iron that has taken me to the next level, and I don't care what super iron comes out next its good for me. Work the ball left or right, punches and high shots, low shots a snap. I'm tempted just like everyone else for the blades, but until I consistently shoot scratch, these are the best option for me, I recommend.

GREAT set of clubs. They kicked my TM 320s out of the bag the day after I hit the 300s at the range. I've always wanted a forged set of irons that looked and felt nice and these were them. And to top it off, the 300s are forgiving which is hard to find in a forged club these days without it being the size of a blade. The fit, finish and feel of the clubs are excellent throughout the set. The 300s have a slightly thinner topline than the 320s and I can see no difference between the two other than the 300s being forged and the 320s being cast. I've taken 10 strokes off my average score per round and hope to go lower. I'm not saying I've "bought" game, but you have to really like the clubs you're playing with in order to have the confidence to make accurate shots consistently. These have done it for me. And no, I don't work for TaylorMade. Even though TaylorMade comes out with "newer improved" models every year, they're still 5-star quality clubs.

Purchased cleveland ta5's early last year as they were on sale and had heard many good things about the irons. as i soon as my honeymoon was over after my purchase, i learned they were not the right iron for my game. while i needed stiff shafts, the stock cleveland shafts, along with the offset heads allowed for little workability of the ball. recently tried a buddies tm 300's and had to get a set for myself. this was hard to do as they were discontinued but found a set that pretty much mached what i was looking for (rifle flighted 6.0 shafts). these clubs start off by looking sweet when you are over the ball. the thin topline and shining grooves instill confidence even before you draw the club back. contact with the ball is like hitting a nail with a hammer. great ball flight that is easily a club longer than the ta5's. hit a 3-iron that was not in the sweet spot and while it did not sound great, it still went 220 and i was putting for eagle. while considered a blade, the head size is not too small. tried to hit the mizuno mp 33's, and while they look great as well, i am not at the level to put those in my bag. i am usually in the 82-87 range but had a 78 using them for the second time. sinking bomb putts were mostly the reason but if i was not on in regulation, i would not have had my birdie chances. would recommend these as a game improvement club because you have to focus on making good contact. not that minor mis-hits will be overly penalized but you will definately hear and see some different results.
