TaylorMade 300 Irons

TaylorMade 300 Irons

DESCRIPTION

From TaylorMade: "The traditional look comes from the thin topline, mirror chrome finish, straight leading edge and minimal offset. The modern conveniences of optimal weighting and center of gravity are achieved through TaylorMade's exclusive trapezoidal cavity pad, which is placed behind the impact zone to maintain ball velocity and preserve feel. Like the 320 and 360 irons, the long irons in the Forged 300 set have negative bounce to help create lift, while the short irons have positive bounce to prevent ballooned shots."

Excellent feel, I tried them first in an indoor range and then took them aoutdoors and I was even more convinced that these are the best forged clubs I´ve tried. They also look beautiful and simple.

Went to get fitted today for Hogan Apex Plus after hitting everything else in the past month. Fitter suggested I hit the 300. I was so impressed I hit 25-30 balls with this club and have put the fitting on hold. These clubs let me hit long, straight shots on a very consistent basis. Compared with the Apex Plus, the 300 performed every bit as good. In view of the fact that the 300 head is a bit larger than the Apex Plus, logic would dictate the 300 should be a bit more forgiving.

Mis-hits with the 300 still provided good distance. Even very poorly struck shots went where you expected, but retained more distance than anticipated. In comparison to the Mizuno Comp EZ, the 300's were much more consistent in terms of length, trajectory, and direction.

I would strongly recommend these clubs to anyone with a handicap below 18, who wants the "feedback" that forged clubs provide. Although I wasn't too impressed initially hitting these into a golf store's screen, the range totally changed my mind. You can work these clubs if you want but just as impotant, you can hit these straight again and again and again. Instant gratification is pretty strong with these sticks. Try 'em, you'll like 'em too.

I think these clubs are the best clubs i ever got my hand on. The look of them is just enough to buy them, the forged looks the best, and its simple shape is not to big. The club itself is wonderful. If you hit something a little thin, it goes right at the hole, fat, it goes right at the hole. The feel is fantastic. The only problem is there lenth is a little short and i may have to put no shafts in the suckers.

I tried these on a demo day at my local golf store. Upon first seeing them I noticed they looked a lot like my Mizuno Pro Forged T-Zoids. However, I believe my T-zoids are far superior in terms of feel and playability. All in all, Taylor Made has done a piss poor job in trying to produce a forged iron.

Tried these out at the range and would recommend you try Mizuno Pro Forge T-Zoids, a much better club. I did like the rifle shafts though.

Just tested these along with Hogan Apex, Apex plus, Cleveland TA3, Precept Forged, Mizuno MP14, Armour EVO forged, McGregor forged, etc. Found these to have a very solid feel. Hope others will review and provide some feedback. Still searching for the right club, but would say of those hit, this club, the TA3 and the Precept felt the most solid. The prices are KILLING me!

I decided I was ready to move into a forged iron with some cavity and forgiveness. I also went from Rifle 6.5 in my X14s to Rifle 6.0 in the Taylor Made 300s. These clubs are so straight and long that I thought I needed to wake up from this dream. I wasn't dreaming; these clubs are awesome baby. I can draw on command now. I am ready to break 80 this summer. I have gained distance and workability with these clubs. Good luck and go low.

The clubs have a slightly larger head, and sweetspot, than most forgings. They are easy on the eyes, easy to find in the swing, and the feel was as good as any of the other sets tested. TaylorMade offers you a lot of options with this model. You can get 3 different shafts in one of 5 flexes. The length, loft and lie are all custom ordered at no extra charge. In truth, these are custom made clubs, not OEM. I like the rifle flighted shafts, they are suited towards a rythmic swing, and have a kickpoint that changes throughout the set, giving you the best ballflight for each club. Distance of these irons are one club longer than my current set (LCG's with Bubble).

Customer Service

Excellent: they support their merchandise. If products break during normal use, they are replaced at the shop, almost immediately.

I normally play the King Cobras but was out of town. The club had a demo set of the 300. The size of the club heads had me believing I could not use them. Once I tried them....oh what a feeling. The ball seem to explode off the club face. The only problem I had was from the deep rough even though my last shot on 18 was from 180 out from the rough. This time I got the club on the ball and it just screamed into a subtle draw. I'd love to own a set!
