I have owned many sets of irons in my golf years, pings, wilsons, callaway x-18's and I never have gotten the performance that I wanted out of my irons. Pings were accurate but no height, x-18's were high and accurate but distance suffers. I was worried when I first bought these, As a single digit handicapper, I was concerned that my swing speed was too fast for this set (112) driver. But I would say to anyone looking to buy golfclubs, unless you are on the tour, these are about the best clubs you can own, trust me.

I have only been seriously golfing for 2 years, and this is my first set of irons (got a great deal on E-bay). I am playing a set with stiff graphite shafts. These irons are great. They get the ball right up and are very straight. Don't be afraid of the "HT", the high trajectory does not cut back any distance it just helps get the ball in the air. The only thing I can say that I don't like about the clubs are the grips, but from what I have read I guess that is the case with all or most stock TM grips.

The Taylor Mades were so good that I started screaming... 'in the hole' everytime I hit a shot! The driving range manager threw me out!...
O.K I am clearly joking BUT the RAC HT's are an absolute dream to hit! I started off with a 7 iron (nice & easy)! It was like a hot knife thru butter! The ball went as straight as a arrow! My jaw dropped in amazement!

I then took on the 3 iron & yet again the ball was thrown up into the air with ease & flew past 200 yards!! The smile on my face was ear to ear! I hit around 200 practice balls & only 15/20 shots were awful, solely because I was trying tooo hard to kill the ball!!

These clubs are a must to anyone who wants to straighten up there game & feel confident with their iron shots!!

P.s my girlfriend is now worried... thats how good they are!

Although it is difficult for me to comment on the Taylor Made RAC HT's, as I have just purchased them from 'online golf'. I am just posting a note on here to thank all the people who wrote their reviews! They helped me decide that the Taylor Made RAC HT where my next set of irons!! I will recieve them at the weekend & will leave a proper evaluation after I have visited the driving range.

I've been playing golf again regular for the past year and a half. I started back with a set of Taylormade 200 steel irons with r flex steel shafts. They were much better irons than the old Ping copies I sold, but I needed something more forgiving.

I demoed the RAC HT's with graphite shafts. I had never hit a graphite shafted iron before and I was impressed. Very easy to get the ball up in the air without swinging too hard. At the range, I know I added up to 20 yards per shot per iron. I would hit my 7 iron 150 yds with the 200 steel set, this set I can reach 150 with my 8 iron without trying hard, 9 iron if I push it.

The graphite shafts are very nice. I bought an R flex set, and they are not whippy feeling. I've heard that some people do not think graphite shafts are as accurate as steel. This may be true for the scratch player, but my accuracy has actually improved. If I can hit it straighter and farther, and where I want it to go that's good, right?

I paid $320.00 with shipping on ebay for this set 3-PW. They had been played with about 4 times and still looked like new.

If there's anything I don't like about this set, it's the grips. I hope someone from Taylormade will read these reviews, and consider going to a better grip. It looks like nearly everyone that does a TM review complains about the grips. I have now owned 2 sets of TM irons, a rescue hybrid, and 2 TM drivers and the grips have always been a problem.

Has this set cured my slice? No. My golf teacher is helping me with that. I'm no technical expert, I'm just an average guy with an average swing that gets to play golf on the weekends. All I can say is this set gets the job done for me,and I hope to be shooting in the 90's on a regular basis this summer and the 80's by next year.

I'm giving this set a 5 star rating for overall value, but only 4 stars because of the grips.

Customer Service

Taylormade's customer service has always been good. I have not need to call them about this set, but they have helped me with headcovers and number tags in the past.

As advertised, this is an easy to hit set of irons.

I'm 54 years old, and have been away from the game for the past 3 years for a variety of reasons. My handicap has been as low as 8, and as a rule I've played forged blades for the past 10 years prior to my hiatus.

I decided to try some new technology to ease my transition back to the game. These clubs certainly fit the bill.

The set up takes some getting used to after a clean blade set up, but not too difficult to grow accustomed to. The RAC HT's provide about 10 yards more distance per club than I'm used to which could be the result of the graphite shafts being lighter than my standard steel, offering increased swing speed with no increase in effort.

The set does provide a high trajectory as the name implies, distance however, being greater than my previous sets, was never an issue. I had no trouble knocking these down, or cutting them. They do have a propensity to overdraw if you get too relaxed in your mechanics.

I played a Cunniquid today on Cape Cod, nice track built in 1895. A shot makers course with small elevated greens. The RAC HT's performed very nicely on this layout. High soft and long. What's to complain about?

I have my set bent to 2* flat, and they hit through the set with wonderful consistancy.

All in all I' say this is a very nice dependable set of irons for the mid handicapper, and if your tired of working your blades all week at the range to hit the sweet spot, give the new technology a whirl.

I'm happily impressed.

Fantastic! I just purchased these clubs and tried them on my course for the first time. The clubs gave excellent feel and the shots remained straight and landed softly. Not only that but the distance was great. On a 145 yard par 3 I was used to using a 7 iron, I used a 9 iron and shot to the back of the green!! I can't wait to get back out on the course and try to lower my handicap.

This is a super sweet set of irons. The feel is outstanding, the forgiveness likewise, the ease of making solid contact is as good as anything I have ever hit, the accuracy is great, the trajectory is just a bit higher than a standard stick, certainly no ballooning... big sole greatly reduces fat shots, slightly off center shots are still darn good. I still don't understand, now that I have managed to get into the 70's pretty consistently why people like to play an iron that is inherently slightly unstable (like a small blade or other "players" sticks).... where you just HAVE to hit it dead center every time or are severly penalized... sure, if you get to be less than a 5 hdcp, maybe the blades would add slight element of extra workability and/or accuracy. But if you are not there yet, this is a great set to consider. Easy is good. Straight is good. Greens in reg are good. Plus, in my opinion, these sticks look great.

These clubs are extremely easy to get in the air and have a very nice feel to them when you make average or better contact with the ball. They have a very wide sole and look very thick at address. Even though you can not see the cavity at address, it is very nice looking and the club overall looks very nice. I noticed that the club is very forgiving and even off target shots have a way of coming out alright. The distance is just as good if not better than the average cavity back. The added weights in the cavity of the club make it very easy to get the ball up in the air. Even for a high hitter like myself, these clubs work out awesome. Very good buy if you can find them for less than 375$. In my opinion, much easier to hit than the RAC OS, LT, or MB. For a golfer who shoots mid 80's like myself, i had no problem sweet stroking a lot of my shots with these clubs. Even the low irons hit well compared to other sets. These clubs are also very light feeling [when compared to my friends TA2's and CPR's.]
