These clubs are amazing, they are working just great for me. I put a post about these clubs about 5 months ago when i bought then and i didnt know jack, but know that it brought my scord down from the high 80''s to the mid/high 70''s i am very satisfied with these set of irons. The 990''s have a very soft feel to then, they have the perfect flight trajectory and spin, they are the best looking clubs out there, and if you are looking for a new set PLEASE try this out.

I heard from a few guys in the clubhouse that these irons were tough to tame and had to find out the hard way. Ball flight is horrific!..Irons are not solid at all and played 5 rounds and numerous trips to the range. Definitely a no-go and maybe that is why the pro's use titleist balls and stay away from their irons..

This is my first year of serious golf. Started demoing clubs in March. The golf shop steered me away from the 990s. The owner said it took him twenty years to get into clubs of the 990 category. The owner said he would sell them to me but felt he should let me know that these wern't for beginers. Ended up buying the X-14s. They were OK but looked too fat and always had trouble getting close to what ever I aimed at. I have read over the past reviews by others like myself as well as professional reviews. The truth in many of these reviews as well as mine is that the Pro shop owners that tell you, you can't hit these irons are trying to be honest busines owners and try to get beginers enjoying golf as soon as possible. They should take it one step further and discuss with the beginer how much effort they plan to put into there golf game. I could have saved some money had I trusted my own judgement. These clubs are fantastic. They look and feel great. My accuracy has improved dramaticly. This review was just to say, don't be afraid of these clubs. They do perform and will give great results. Many reviews have said you get what you put into it. Thats true but I hit these clubs right away. If you can't hit these clubs, go get a couple lessons and figure out whats wrong with your swing. Once you hit them, you won't be able to put them down.

I have just begun playing golf again after a four year absence form the game. I tried many clubs in the search for my new tools. The Titleist DCI 990s were far superior to any other. Many shop pros tried to stear me away from the 990s and other so called "player's clubs". Telling me that with my current handicap and my return to the game I should try a more "forgiving," cavity backed, cast iron. At first I did. However all of these "game improvment" irons were so dull, large, and clunky feeling that I could not get used to them. I was all over the place. I do have a high handicap at present but that is because of poor course management and a equally poor shortgame. I do however hit the center of the club face around 85-90 percent of the time. The DCI 990s are not a game improvement iron. They are not going to correct continual contact off of the toe or heal of the club. These situations call for a perimeter weighted club. But the 990s are not just for low handicap player as some would have you think. They are simply suited to a player who can consistently strike on or near the center of the clubface with regularity. There are many higher hadicap players like myself who are capable of this and simply lack in other parts of the game. So to sum it up. The DCI 990s are an excellent club. Perfectly balanced. Nice trajectory. The whole package. Anyone looking for a new set of irons should give them a try. Even if they are a higher hadicap. They may find them just as sweet as I did.

The review by "Clinton" below is absolutely true. I was also steered away by some snooty golf salesman. My handicap was a 20 back then and I went ahead and bought the 990's. The sales person said that I would be back to trade these in for some true cavity backs. Well, I am glad I didn't listen to him. The 990's give me incredible feedback. I have improved my swing with these irons that my overall game is better. Thes should not be purchased to help your bad swing. But these should be purchased if you are serious about improving your swing mechanics. Since purchasing these irons, my handicap is lower by 6 strokes. Soon I will be a single digit handicaper if I could just have a better mental game. These are the sweetest feeling irons when you hit them flush! Also, they are more durable than forged so they will last you a long time. I know I will be playing these for at least another 3 years.

These irons are great. I currently play them with a True Temper S300 shaft and I get consistent ball flight with each iron. They are a little heavier than most other irons that I have tried, but that will work to yor advantage by allowing the club head to do the bulk of the work. They are also very forgiving. I only wish I could swing my driver with as much confidence!

Boy Nathan, you sure over paid for your irons. You better love them! I think these are pretty good sticks. I am not hitting my 3 iron farther than anybodies driver thought. Sounds like Nate needs to join the tour. LOL. Anyway there are easier to hit irons out there so I would try some of those first, but if you have a good swing and you practice fairly often, you can't go wrong with these. I am going to get the B I think.

Basicaly, all I can say is that these sticks are incredible. I used to play Tommy Armour 845's w/ a stiff shaft and would hit the ball pure everytime, however, I would always throw everything to the right for no reason. I have an incredible swing and each PGA Professional that I got lessons from couldn't figure out why I leaked everything so far left. I realized that I needed a switch and the DCI 990's fit my game. It's the first blade I've ever played and I can't say enough about em'. I play in a Permanent Tee-time on Sats and all I do now is hit green after green after green. The other three DS'ers that I play w/ can't believe it. More often than not, I take my 3 iron out and fly one of kids that I play with, Cooper, and he uses his Driver. It's unbelievable. If you can hit solid shots time after time you can play these sticks. It's getting so ridiculous now that I'm taking hundreds of dollars from my foursome on a weekly basis. Except for one kid who's wallet squints everytime he brings it out. No big deal.
