Titleist DCI 990 Irons

Titleist DCI 990 Irons

DESCRIPTION

From Titleist: The 990 Iron features a "variable muscle back cavity with progressively biased weight throughout the set. Long irons are weighted to promote playability and higher ball flight. Short irons are weighted to produce lower, more controllable ball flight. Traditional V-grooves for consistent trajectory and spin performance."

I'm a +2 golfer and i have to say that these clubs are the absolute best.
I had mine custom made by my sponsers and i've dropped a shot ever since playing with them. Although im only 16 years old and not the strongest of people i can still hit the 7-iron accurately 180 yards easily. thanks titleist for a great product

What can you say about these clubs? They are by far the best Irons I have
Ever played. Some of the reviews posed on the 990s are accurate, the 990s are
Soft as butter when hit square, and the ball flight is awesome. Buy these Irons
And you will not be disappointed

An absolutely great set of irons.I would recommend them to any golfer. The 3-pw set is good and a couple of vokeys complete the set nicely.I got a set with r300 true temper shafts which are a lot better and more consistant than my old x-14s.A very sexy looking golf club

I've been playing these clubs now for about 12 months. They are everything you would expect them to be. SOLID, good swings produce good trajectory balls, bad ones tell you what you did wrong. Having said that they are not unforgiving, you still don't lose that much distance and they fly straight, unless the swing was really bad, you know the ones ! Even Callaway X12's won't fix !! Good distance control, always predictable, good stopping power. You get returned what you put in, as it should be......

P.S. Get fitted, do not buy off the shelf, you may be disappointed, not to mention the possibility of taking away the opportunity of improving your game.

Customer Service

Good service, professional advise when fitting.

I traded a set of Mizuno MP-14's for these. What a great set of irons. They provide great feel with explosive distance, 15 yards longer than my Ping Eye II's. I find them to be more forgiving than the DCI 962's. The 3 iron is as easy to hit as the pitching wedge.

Customer Service

My experience with them was great. They stand by there equiptment.

This 990 was designed to compete with other forged perimeter-weighting/blade hybrid irons (Mizuno, Hogan, Armour, Macgregor, etc.) which seem to be the most popular trend nowadays. The 990 is merely able to offer very similar packages at a lower price since it’s cast irons.

Titleist is planning a launch of new forged blade irons and 970 woods that’ll hopefully replay the 975D epidemic, which, if successful, shall lead to a rise of Titleist empire like Microsoft, but the marketing dept. is not sure if they’ll appeal to the mid-handicappers, the majority in golf.

I just started golf a little over a year now and went through many different sets. I got hooked on this game and watch the golf channel for free lessons and took a class my self. I found these irons to be very accurate in distance and control. It may be due to the Rifle 5.0 steel shaft with a low torque. The off center hits gives you a little harsh feedback but nothing that stings. The ball still goes is the right direction with 10-15 lost yards. If you have a smooth and easy swing these are the ones to get. No problem getting the ball up and it goes exactly where you aim. If you are careless on your setup your ball will fly in that direction. I gained a little distance on the longer irons and the same distance with the shorter irons. Don't be afraid to try these because you are a high handicapper. It could be your short game that needs work. The heavy heads makes it an effortless swing once you drop your hands in the slot. All you need to do is get your hips out of the way, swing and follow through. Golf has never been so easy with these irons. I don't know about the other shafts but the upgraded Rifle 5.0 sure works for me. Aloha!!!

These clubs are a must have....i played a beginner set for about a year and a half. After i got lessons, i asked my golf teacher to recommend me some clubs to best fit me. I can definetly tell a difference in ball flight, workability, trajectory, feel, and spin into the greens. Without a recommendation from my coach, i would of never gotten to try these beautiful clubs...Thanks Todd!!! If you dont have these irons then you are definetly missing out. Try them, i think you will be impressed.
