Titleist DCI 990 Irons

Titleist DCI 990 Irons

DESCRIPTION

From Titleist: The 990 Iron features a "variable muscle back cavity with progressively biased weight throughout the set. Long irons are weighted to promote playability and higher ball flight. I absolutely love these clubs, after a couple times on the range, took em out to play, cut 14 strokes off my usual score.
These are good if you value feel and workability over forgiveness. When hit correctly these clubs are butter, if hit off the sweet spot significantly you'll get some harsh feedback. Amazing workability, even for a higher handicapper, fades, draws, high shots, knockdowns... this club does them all with ease.
If you're looking to improve, even if you're a high handicapper, try these clubs, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the playability and feel

An excellent feel iron set, quite easy to hit the ball with solid feel. The 2-iron are easy to hit a knockdown shot. Overall, it's a great set that should have in your bag.

These irons are very good if you can consistanly hit the sweetspot time after time, you cannot miss it, or you will know because the shot will result very bad. They are a little more fogiving than the 962, but not much, if you are 15 or under handicapp, give these a try, keep playing since they will last for the rest of you career since there is nothing else you can ask for in a golf club.

A very good iron. There are incredible solid and give that distintive titleist feel which no other club manufactureres can do. There are not that forgiving as I have found out but my old irons were worse so I don't notice it that much, I think the 962 would be better for the slightly higher handicapper. This irons are however brilliant for shaping the ball and you can hit them high, low, draw, fade whatever you need. There do let you get away with a slight mis-hit which everyone needs occasionally but this are definatly a players club.

Customer Service

they took away the free 1i/2i/sw offer away after I had ordered them which was annoying because I havn't had a chance to obtain a 2iron yet. Also the delivery meant they had the heads in the country 3 weeks before the shafts.

I recently traded in my Eye 2s for a set of these beauties with the 5.5 rifled shaft. The feedback is excellent, although I do have some trouble with extreme sidehill lies. You've really got to make a bad swing to get that sharp, mis-hit feeling. Overall I am satisifed with my purchace and the rifled shaft is definitely worth the extra money. I also had them re-gripped right away, I'm not a fan of the 1/2 cord grip that come stock.

Customer Service

They came custom from the factory in about a week and a half.

Not bad, or good. I like my titleist forged blades better. Im not sure when they are going to sell them to the public, but when they do they are the club to buy.

Customer Service

always good

Great feel and looking clubs. I had of 962's that I loved, but these were better. The long irons are much easier to hit and work. Unlike the 962 long irons, these get in the air real well and hold the slick greens of my home course. The mid irons perform well and I can just beat on my 6 and 7 irons. I can control distances well with these. I can hit my p-wedge anywhere from 145 down to 115 which allows me to control the ball in windy conditions. The ability to shape shots with these irons is great and I can really hit anything from a low hook around a corner, to a soft cut which can carry over objects and lands soft. The only downside is that these aren't very forgiving and send immediate response to your hands when a poor shot is hit. But for the better player you would be hard pressed to find a better iron

Customer Service

The customer service is not the best, and it took longer than originally anticipated for my irons to come

As I mentioned earlier I had a set of 962's which performed well so thats what I judged the 990's against

My dad got me one set upon recommendation by my coach and got these babies with tour flighted 6.0 rifles. Wow, I was thinking that I was gonna lose some distance moving from callaway irons but I was thoroughly wrong, these irons felt great to me, although I tested the Hogan Apex Plus, I was'nt ready, I couldn't find the sweet spot. Distance wise, I am a slightly above avg length hitter, I hit these 7 irons to about 160 metres. But then these irons, with these shafts have given me better shot consistency. Enjoying the game much more now.
