By far, the best irons I have ever hit. Great feel, and performance. Also, awesome trajectory, especially for the higher irons

I used to have the DCI Oversive+, which were great. Everything I own is from Titleist

My previous set of irons was a Mizuno Pro II set. I got along well with them. But I decided to get a set of titleist 990s mainly to complement the rest of my clubs and my accessories that are all Titleist(woods, wedges, ball, bag and glove). I had my 990s custom fitted with rifle shafts. After a few rounds with my new irons, I did not regret spending the money for these irons. The mid and short irons are extremely accurate and the long irons are so easy to hit even from the rough. At address, the cosmetics are faultless, which Titleist is famous for, and the feel(for a cast iron) is superb. On the whole, I cant find a single fault with this set of irons. Superb!!

I live in Pittsburgh.I also play golf year round(when there is no snow). So I play in some pretty cold weather. I play true temper tri-gold with no sensicore(sensicore is not available from true temper in the .355T). I have to say that honstly I only had a couple of stingers all winter. I agree with most other scratch and low handicapers. If you can't hit over-sized irons, these are not for you. But if you are an accomplished golfer these are golden. P.S. Did I mention there stainless steel, and basicly indstructable. The faces don't get nicked and worn, as easly as a soft metal forged club.

I have spent the last 4 months driving the 3 guys at my local pro shop mad, because I had to try basically every single club on the market today. I took ages to decide. Forged? Cast? Cavity back? Blade? It was kind of exhausting. I wanted to make sure I got the right irons for my game. I narrowed it down to Mizuno Pro II's and the 990's. The two were quite similar in distance, feel and playability. I ended up buying the 990's based on price, resale value and reputation. I was not disappointed, to say the least. These irons have phenominal playability. I am able to draw, fade and punch when I want to, without sacrificing distance. I have heard that the feel of these irons is muted and have a thud sound on impact. Could they be anymore wrong. Those people in question obviously shouldn't be using blades, they should be using Callaway and other large, cavity-back irons. Any blade will give you harsh feedback if you cannot hit the sweet spot. Try the 990's, you'll love them.

Customer Service

I got fitted for my 990's. It only took 2 weeks to get my irons, exacly the way they were ordered.

The 990 is a significant improvement over the 962's I have played for the past 3 years. Long irons are much easier to manage and the trajectory control is much better. The 990's also have a much better feel on the center than the 962. They do not feel nearly as soft as the Mizuno forged MP's but the long iron play is superior. Definitely a skilled players club with shot shaping control. If your swing is fundamentally sound, the 990 will be a very good club for you. Less skilled players should probably choose a club with more game improvement features.

when i bought these clubs two months ago it seemed golf stores were trying to steer me away from them because my handicap was about 20. i was told they were hard to hit and very unforgiving and would be better off with an oversized cavity iron. well let me tell you, don't be turned off these irons. after a couple of rounds i was hitting them better than my old irons. much more loft with comparable distance to my big bertha irons. i'd never been able to hit a six iron from 160m and have it pitch on the green and only roll 1 or two metres. the increased loft in my shots has allowed me to really attack the pin and i have shaved about 5 shots off my handicap in a couple of months. when you hit one perfect it's golf in it's purist form !!

!WOW!First of all I've just to say that these little beauties have done wonders for my golf game. For instance with the 3 iron I average 230 off the tee, and i can also spin the heck out of the ball with my wedge, just beautiful. It seems like now I hit every green in regulation. I would definitely recommend these babies to anyone, but youve got to have a solid swing like me to reak the benefits.

The best irons. So forgiving. So crisp. Especially with the long irons. The only complant is that they tend to really dig at the ground. Perhaps they could use 1 or 2 degrees of bounce. But definatly the best clubs. I haven't had one person pull a 990 out of my bag and not like it. The best!!!!!!

These are the best irons i have ever hit. I am 14 and this is my second year playing but i play so often that i now shoot low scores. These irons alow you to work the ball very easily. They have a low to mid trajectory which somethimes helps with the wind. What i like best about them is the control i have when using them.
