Maxfli Noodle Balls

Maxfli Noodle Balls

DESCRIPTION

Maxfli''s research and development department set out to create a ball that combined the seemingly incompatible qualities of long distance and soft feel at impact; it was called Project Noodle. They succeeded in their quest, and the Noodle was born. The secret of the Noodle is a high-energy, low-compression core material, soft-yet-durable Surlyn cover, and a high-launch 408-dimple pattern. Want maximum distance without a hard feel? Try the Noodle, the ball with the intriguing name and outstanding performance.

I had been playing the Pro V1 along with some of the other expensive balls and decided to give these a try (despite the stupid name). Really like the feel of this ball. My drives are about 15 yards longer and I'm scoring better around the green. I have picked up 3-5 strokes per round since switching.

As a 20 year local tournament golfer and 4 handicap, I switched to blade irons this year for more feeling at impact. I still don't favor a spin ball because my occasional bad shot will magnify from an unexpected fade into the rough into a bananna slice with penalty stroke possibilities . With my new set up I have been searching for a reasonably long ball with a soft feel and not too much spin. The Pro V1x fits the bill, but is a rip off price wise. Other balls make claims to long and soft, but in reality all feel like Top Flites. That is until I tried the Noodle. Hate the name and dislike the corny promotion, but have finally found my ball. It is good enough off the tee and feals like a dream off the long and mid irons! As a matter of fact, they give me more confidence on those critical long approach shots because you know it is going to feel great off the club face instead of that nasty jolt you get from the typical rock hard distance ball. The spin is just right for my game. One or two bounces and short release on the green. That is unless I'm hitting a full wedge or nine and then they still come back a foot or two. On the green they put like an old time Titleist wound balata (WONDERFUL). Finally found my ball in spite of the crummy name....

Love the noodle, anxious to try the Noodle spin. Other golfers laugh at me playing a noodle while I use a new noodle every time, they use old Pro V1's.

I first read about these balls last September when I took up golf. Being a novice I didn't like to buy the more expensive "Pro Style" balls because a) I would lose most of them, b) I didn't have the skills to use them properly. I happened upon a bargain of £20 for 2 dozen. I bought 4 dozen (a dozen each for a friend and his Father). I really like these balls. Firstly they are long. Under advice from the Pro who teaches me I didn't go out and buy a driver I bought a driving iron instead. I put one of these 317 yards (total) only a par four green. I've never had the opportunity to go for an eagle before, and so in the time honoured tradition I 3 putted from 10 feet out for par. I love the feel of the ball too compared to the RockFlites I was using. Until I get enough skill to consider things such as "1 bounce and stop" or "a drop of backspin" (which are years off for me), then this will remain my ball of choice for a long time to come. Not a bad price either I bought my first as a one-off pro-mo, but £12.99 isn't too bad when I consider other MaxFli prices. Of course I will experiment with other balls, but I'll always make sure I have a sleeve of three handy - just in case!

Maxfli has a good ball here in the noodle spin.Ball putts very well and IMO it feels really soft but yet using my driver i can crush it out there about 250. I beleive it is as good as the Pro V1 but it is about half the price. It is the best ball I have played so far for the price. Also it is a very durable ball.

I tried on the free hat that you get if you purchase 2 dozen of these balls and loved the hat. I've played several rounds with the balls. I'm not normaly long with the irons but now I have to club down 1 or sometimes 2 clubs on green approach shots. Huge improvement to my game. My drives have improved in a huge way, I've been tacking on 20-30 extra yards at times. I've been driving the ERC II for about a year and love that club even more because of the Noodle. I was playing the Callaway bules and Hogan Apex balls, they have a better feel on the putting green (only draw back). Bottom line: I'll be buying the Noodle. Great Price, Nice hat too.

I am not a long hitter and never will be one. For my game, I did not notice any appreciable distance change with the Noodle. What I did notice, however, was three very positive differences: 1) I like the softness of the ball. I just finished playing on a chilly day and did not have one "stinger". The soft feel is particularly nice for chips and pitch shots, however, I agree with the comments of some other folks that these short shots do not stop quite as well. 2) I don't know if it's related to the soft feel or what, but I am dropping more putts than before. I've really noticed a softer feel when striking putts and as a result, my accuracy is better and my distance control is much better. 3) I will never be like Amy from Peoria, Illinois, and be able to play 12 rounds with a single ball before losing it. (That must be why she shoots in the 70's and I shoot in the 90's!) But after playing two rounds with the same ball, the cover is still in excellent condition - virtually unmarked.

Not impressed. Length OK, not able to hold greens. Played (or tried to) in wind & no control. Also poor control in no wind. Would not try again.

After playing a full found with the Noodle... my mind has somewhat changed. I thought I could sacrifice length without holding the greeens. Not so, while the Noodle gives better distance its too hot around the greens. That first bounce is sometimes severe, which leads to many sandtraps or chips rather than putts. I don't think I'll change my game to play this ball... there are too many chooses out there for that. Good luck in your quest for "the ball". For now I'm still looking.
