I found one of these in the woods one day, and decided to try it. The next day I bought a sleeve, and eventually a box. These have to be one of the best balls I have played. Very good distance off the driver, and very good spin on the green. I never used to like Strata's too much, till I tried these.

Pro V1 (very very close in comparison, although less spin, but more distance)

i've played the Callaway Red for the last two months and have had very good results. However, today i ran out of them after catching one fat, sending it into the water.
So i pulled out a strata, and was fairly surprised. off the short irons, this ball flew higher then the callaways. For me this is a bonus as i naturally hit the ball very low. The ball also spins a little more then the callaway and is far more durable.
My only complaint is the feel of the ball. it's like a mixture between the taylor mades and the callaway blue and feels like you have very little directional control over the ball off the tee. This will probably change if i take the time to get acustomed to the feel.
All in all, i'll have great difficulty choosing between the two.
just wish i had of noticed this ball before i adjusted to the callaway reds.

This ball is every bit and more to me than the ProV1. From the tee, it gives me better control and trajectory. Feel from the irons for me is about the same but durability is incredible. I have tried the Tour Pro and now the Tour Ulti. I didn't "feel" any big differences except for on the green. The Ulitmate putts very well. Softness from the putter is everything to me and does make the biggest difference. For the amount you spend on a box of these, I'll buy 2 dozen before playing the ProV1 again. If its the name your looking for, I'll bet anyone that if I took the logos off this and the pro v, it would be safe to say that the Tour Ultimate will reign supreme.
So here is my breakdown.

Driver: Great distance, Good trajectory, Very controllable.
Irons: Excellent spin, very predictable and soft landing.
Putter: Very soft and true.
Durability: Solid, very solid.

Well, Jim certainly sounds like a well-educated fellow, now doesn't he. Jim obviously does not know a good ball when he tees it up. The cover on this ball is very durable in comparison with just about any other "premium" ball on the market. It isn't as long as the Pro V1, but offers better trajectory and control. It is softer feeling than the Professional, and much longer while spinning every bit as well. It is much more durable than the Revolution, Tour Accuracy, or Precept Tour Premium. This ball is the best in this price range. However, I have not tried the Rule 35 because I cannot stand to see the name Callaway. Just my personal preference, not a knock against their products. Honestly, though, for far less money, the performance offered by the Strata Tour Professional is unreal! Bt the way, Jim, the same company responsible for Top Flite and Strata is also responsible for the "Ben Hogan" line of clubs. Would you like to criticize these clubs as intelligently as you did the Strata?

Have been playing the Tour Professional, which would be the world's most awesome ball if it could just go 8-10 yards longer off the tee. Was hoping the Tour Ultimate would do the trick....it didn't. Played it side-by-side against the Pro V1 and the Tour Pro. Yes, it is longer -- as long as the Pro V1. But it seems a bit harder than the Tour Pro and didn't feel as nice coming off my irons. I putted as well with it but it just doesn't have that buttery feel of the Tour Pro.
CONCLUSIONS SO FAR:
Driving: (tie) between Pro V1 and Strata Tour Ultimate
Irons Into Green: Tour Pro has slight edge over Pro V1
Chipping: Tour Pro reigns supreme
Putting: Tour Pro by eyelash over Ultimate and 3 eyelashes over Pro V1

I got a sleeve from a friend and tried them out that day. It's a preey good ball distance wise and an excellent ball spin wise. The one bad thing I notice about this ball is its consistency around the green and on approach shots. Although is putts soft and true it seems to slip on my short iron when im hitting my approach shots, causing the bal to fade of draw. It also doesnt have the piercing trajectory that I like on par threes. Overall a great ball for combined distance and spin, but if your a player looking for control around the greens I recommend the Nike tour Accuracy of the Titleist pro V1. its also ever priced as are all brand name golf balls.

WOW. This ball feels great. It is plenty long. It is my favorite. I have not played the ProV1 to date, but can't see paying an extra $15. I peeked on a little chip and thinned an L Wedge and the darn thing checked up. Amazing. For every day play, I recommend the Pinnacle Precision Spin for less than half the price. For tournament play or for money, it is definatley the Tour Ultimate.

these balls perform much better for me considering i have a slower swing speed (too slow for the pro v1's. The distance and accuracy was ok with these balls. I still prefer the titleist hp tour and the strata pro 90.

The strata tour ultimate is just not that great the cover does not feel anywhere near as good as the other top of the line balls. It spins too much off the driver. Might be good for a low ball hitting blue hair that needs to stop the ball and doesn't care about feel.
