This is ball is a long ball, but does not hold as much as I would have thought. I have been playing these for about a month now, and i cannot get these balls to stop on these short chips. The distance is great, but does feel a little odd off the irons. Too much hipe was placed on this ball.

I have hit them all. Taylor Made, Nike, Strata, Callaway Rule 35, Maxfli, Titleist, Nike and many others. This ball is a bit of a disappointment for me. It's great off the tee, but lacks the spin and soft feel I would have expected from all the hype. If you are looking for a few extra yards off the tee, this is a good ball. However, if you want a soft feel around the green, without sacrificing distance, I recommend the Callaway Blue Rule 35 or Strata Tour Professional. I hit a lot of wedges into the green, so when I put my ball on the green, I want it to stay there and not roll off the back. The Blue Callaway and Strata Tour Professional give me the spin I'm looking for. The Nike Tour Accuracy is also a nice ball. Great distance and great spin. If money is no object, The Blue Callaway Rule 35 is the best for my buck. As for the new Callaway CB1's...they are crap...just call them the DT90 with a Callaway logo on it.

This ball is long of the tee but it does not hold as well as it claims around the green. It spins unexpectedly on low chip sfots when you don't want spin.

I HAVE BEEN PLAYING SINCE DEC OF 00. I HAVE SO MANY BALLS THAT I HAVE PLAYED WITH. I BOUGHT THE PRO V1 JUST TO SEE WHAT THE HYPE WAS ABOUT. I HIT MY FIRST DRIVE ABOUT 305. I AVERAGE ABOUT 285-300 FOR THE DAY. I HIT A STRATA BALATA AS WELL DURING THE DAY. IT AVERAGED ABOUT 250-280. MY SUGGESTION IS TRY THE IT AND SEE IF YOU LIKE IT. DON'T TAKE NOONES WORD FOR IT.

This ball is incredible! I shot one of my personal best rounds at the site of the 1991 Ryder Cup (The Ocean Course, Kiawah, S.C.)stiff breezes rolling off the ocean, dunes instead of rough and trouble everywhere. With these conditions that Titleist Pro V-1 got the job done for me!
Distance-
It consistently gave me 10 to 15 more yards off the driver and 2 to 5 more on irons. The ball really jumpss yet sticks on greens.

Trajectory-
This ball flies pretty low and comes off of the driving clubs very hot. (driver, 3 wood, 3,4 irons) when struck the ball gets going and never leaves it line unless you want to curve it. The ball flight is very flat and boring.

Spin-
Off the driver I got about half of my extra distance on roll so it obviously did not have much backspin. But on approach shots with irons the ball would come in very steep and just stick. Even with long iron approach shots, the ball will take a hop or two and bite. If you have a forged wedge and hit this ball with it the ball is going to stick right where it hits even some back spin.

Feel-
This ball is softer than other Titleist models; DT Spin, Professional... But it is not as soft as the Nike TA. This ball feels very soft coming off of the putter yet soft shock which is quite pleasent on iron shots. Like I said before I can feel the ball jump or almost sort of compress which is a very soft/solid feeling.

Accuracy-
This ball is called a highspin ball yet never tails off because of "to much spin". It goes the same distance every time and the trajectory is easy to control. I like this ball because I know what its going to do every time.

BUY IT NOW!!!!

I am still waiting for this ball to live up to the hype.

I have just played a trial round of golf with these balls where for 9 holes I played with my usual titleist professional and the back 9 with a pro V1...to be honest I was not that impressed. The ball feels very hard compared to the 100 compression professional (I was beginning to wonder if the 392 written on the side of the ball was the compression rating after a few drives).

I found the following:

Driver distance about the same,

Iron distance a bit longer with a higher flight,

Chipping it has a lot less spin and more roll,

It Putts great.

Maybe it was the cold weather, or maybe I am too used to the professional, but right now I am glad I only bought three of these balls.

I SAY AGAIN, THE TITLEIST PRO V1 IS THE BEST BALL EVER!!!

I NOTICE ABOUT 10-20 YARDS GAINED OFF THE TEE. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY INCREASE IN YARDAGE WITH MY IRONS AS MUCH, BUT THE THE FEEL WAS GREAT.

HOWEVER I WAS MORE IMPRESS WITH THE WAY THE BALL STOPS ON THE GREEN. IF YOU HIT THE CLUB, THE BALL WILL EASILY STAY ON THE GREEN ABOUT WHERE IT LANDED. I GOT ALMOST AS MUCH DISTANCE FROM THE TITLEIST PROFESSIONAL BALL AND THE STRATA TOUR PROFESSIONAL BALLS, BUT THEY COULD NOT STOP ON THE GREEN. WITH THOSE BALLS YOU HIT THE GREEN AND MOST TIME THE BALL WOULD CHECK UP OR BOUNCE BUT NOT STOP ON A DIME AS MUCH AS THE PRO V1.
ALSO YOU CAN USE THE PRO V1 MORE THAN 2 OR 3 ROUNDS. THE DURABILITY IS GREAT.

Unquestionably the best ball on the market. I'm getting 20-25 yards more off the tee and it putts extremely true. I'm looking for someone to buy 5 sleeves of Professionals out of my bag. I'll never use them.

First time out with the Pro-V1. Played two balls all round Pro-V1 vs Maxfli HT 90. After hearing nothing but praise about the V1, I decided to try a sleeve. To be honest, the HT-90 performed better almost across the board. On all but one drive, the HT was longer than the V1. The yardage difference was maybe +/- 3 yards either way. I also had the chance to drop 3 balls from 80yds out to check stopping ability with sand wedge. The Strata Pro-90 stopped the best with the HT and V1 about the same. It was real windy down here yesterday, and the HT consistently bored through the wind better. The Pro-V1 is a nice ball, basically on par with the HT for my game, but at $40++ for a dozen, I can't justify the cost difference when the performance is about the same.

The first time I tried this ball I was in aw. I gained an extra 10 yards from tee to green. It putts so true. The short game could have been better(little or no spin).
