Titleist is finally making a solid core, urethane covered ball. Welcome to the new millenium.
Though late to the game it performs as well as, if not better than any ball on the market. Believe the hype.
Playing winter golf, I've been booming 280 yard drives in 40 degree temperatures, and hitting wedge shots that zip back like a balata ball.
If I could only chip and putt.
Here's a tip: If you're playing winter golf, abandon your wound ball. Titleist admits they lose a lot of distance when the temperature drops.
Luckily, they've finally awakened to the possibilities, and joined Strata, Precept, and Callaway with a solid-core, soft-cover ball. Word is, longtime wound-ball hold-out Maxfli is next with the Revolution SOLID this year. Should be another good one.
Death to the wound ball... long live solid core!

Great Ball! Long, Fabulous feel: "Plink" off tee like a firm ball, Soft off irons and putter like a balata!

Drop and stop really works. Sticks greens off irons and wedges as good as any spin ball.

Only problem, way too expensive and hard to find.

Precept MC Lady is a good alternative, feels duller off tee, but rest of performance quite similar.

Use the lady on water and abyss holes, V1 on the rest!

Great ball.

Alright alright alright. I change my mind I love this ball. I guess I just had a bad day that one time.

This ball has exceptional distance. Especially with the driver. I hit it nice and low, with great distance. But I think the best part about this ball is the spin. Very nice, ball always checks up. But the only thing i absolutely HATE about this ball, is that it's too hard. It's njot as soft as you would think it is. Off the putter it's not soft at all. But it's still good. Anyway the best ball ever made.

I previously swtiched from the Precept Lady. With the Pro V1 I lost about one club with the irons but retained my distance off the tee. The ball was somewhat hard due to the cold weather, but what ball isn't. Even being hard the feel was awesome. You knew where the ball was going when it left the face.

Putting with this ball is a dream. It stays on line and rolls true.

It was with much anticipation that I played the Titleist. After hearing some of the tour players talk about this ball so favorably I wanted to give it a shot. Boy was I let down. The ball was not any longer than the Taylor Made Inergel's that I normally use and worse yet, the ball did not perform with anywhere close to the same feel around the greens as the Taylor Made's. Just to make sure it wasn't just a bad round, I played the Pro V1 for 2 more rounds before deciding that this is not a ball for me. I'll stick with the Taylor Made Inergel's from now on.

I've discovered that there are actually two versions of the Pro V1 available. If you look at the script, "Pro V1 392", the spacing between the characters is either tight of loose. The loose one(P r o V 1 3 9 2) feels and sounds softer (at least the cover), than the one with tight spacing.

I've also read that Maxfli is putting a larger, solid core in the Revolution to compete with the Pro V1.

This is an exceptional golf ball. I have played the Strata Tour Pro for a while and I believe the Pro V1 is better in all regards, except for price. This ball is very long off the tee. It is the longest performance ball I've ever played. I have consistently hit drives farther this winter than I normally do in the summer. The feel is soft but not quite as soft as the Maxfli Revolution. About the same softness as the Strata. The spin with short irons is very good. A well struck short iron will stop within just a few feet of where it lands. A full swing hit solidly will usually back up slightly on the green. Less than full swings usually stop dead in their tracks. The Strata actually spins a little more, but because of this, it is more difficult to dial in exact yardages. The ball also putts very true. The only drawback is the price. Hopefully the price will drop some in the future.

Heard all the hype and wanted to try, but couldn't with the weather in New Jersey. Finally had the chance recently in Florida. Was very surprised by the spin. The ball had a high trajectory and held the greens well. I was using a new driver (Callaway GBB 8* w/ Fujikura Vista 70) so cannot say the ball is the only reason I was hitting 10-12 yards longer. Very pleased overeall. First non-wound ball I have played in seven or eight years. Besides the price I highly recommend. Price should come down soon.

This ball is awesome!!!! The ball flies high. It is longer then any ball, I've played and it has great stopping power. It putts great. I love it. Definitely worth the money. ALSO its durability is sensational!! The only reason I gave it 4 stars for value is the fact I BELIEVE all golf are over priced no matter how good!!!

This is a great ball . It's long and straight with great control around and on the greens. It's much better around the greens than the Eclipse.
