Played nine holes this morning with the new Titleist Pro V1 and was very impressed. The ball is very long (as long as the Lady Precept) and spins very well around the green. In fact, for the first time in 4 or 5 years I drove the green on our club's 17th hole which is a 265 yard uphill par 4. This doesn't sound as good as hitting the 300 yard drives that others claim but I can assure you there are very few amature golfers in their 50's that can reach this green because it is so uphill. I was very pleased even if I did miss the eagle putt. Similar Products Used: Strata,Professional,Lady Precept |

This is quite simply the best ball I have ever hit. Drives hit into the wind did not rise. Wedge shots around the green acted predictably. Full short irons backed nicely. The cover seemed more durable than the Prestige or Professional.I hit 3 VERY thin shots with no cuts or other major scuffs. Customer Service Sent an e-mail about my driver. It was never returned. I bought a pack of these things and fell in love with them the first time out. Progressively i noticed that they didn't live up to all the hype. They spin about the same as a hp eclipse and lack some serious distance. Last time i played with these balls, i had to take one club up on just about ever shot. They are very soft, and do put fairly true, but thats about it for good things. Their cover is ok, but i still cut them in a few spots with my wedges. This ball might be ok for pro players who don't care about loosing 30 yds off their drives, and can spin it back 10 feet with a 2 iron, but for most players, i don't think this is the right choice. Save your money and get a hp tour or even an eclipse. Both the tour and eclipse are longer and spin just as much as the pro v around the green. I dont get it. SO many poeple love this ball. I liked it the first round, but then it began to suck. Also not as soft as i thought it would be. Maxfli Elite : 1 point. Distance ehh ok. Durability whoa : PRoV1 : 1 point. Spin I got barely anything. Maxfli Elite : 2. I just dont get it. I shot a friggin 43 on a 9 hole course with this ball, havent done that fer a year. Well i think ill just start playing with it more. ONe of these days im gonna play 9 holes, but with two balls. ONe with the ELite, one with the ProV1. I mean hey i shot my first 77 with the Elite PRov1 didnt do anything fer me. Ill compare. I thought this ball would be for me. I said it was, but now it ain't. Maybe later... . . . Having played the Titleist Professional almost exclusively for the past 5 years, I was eager to try the new Pro V1. I agree with recent reviews that the Pro V1 is marginally longer than the Professional and spins about the same. The difference I've found is that the Pro V1 rolls truer off the putter face than the Professional... much truer. On the practice green and the course, more putts are dropping than with the Professional. It could be the one piece construction or that I played too long with the Professionals and didn't notice that they were out of round. Whatever the reason, making 1-3 more putts a round is worth the difference in price. Similar Products Used: Titleist Professional |

Unlike some golfers (usually high handicappers).. I won't base my evaluation of this ball on how I played. I've seen too many reviews on this website about how someone that shoots n the 100s says that a wedge sucks because they blade it. or that a ball sucks on how it sliced.. when will peole learn that it's more about the person than the equipment? Comparing this ball against the Titleist Professional, this ball adds about 25 yards to the driver, 15-20 off irons. A little less spin, and about the same feel. and, it putts like all Titleist tour-quality balls. My new ball of choice. Customer Service Titleist has great service Similar Products Used: everything |

Awesome distance off the driver. Every bit as long as any distance ball. Titleists home page shows this ball has low driver spin and moderate wedge spin. Not only a players ball performance wise. Good spin into the greens and nice soft feel off the putter. The best ball i have ever played, bar none. Incidentally, the ball is expensive but it's to good not to use regardless of price. I had heard the hype about this ball since last fall. A friend who works for a distributor scored me a sleeve. The ball meets most of the hype with certain caveats. First, the ball is a rocket off of the driver. Drives were 5-10 yards longer meaining one less club into the green. Ball flight was also lower so was affected by wind less. This is a players ball so expect it to be somewhat more difficult to control with your irons than other long distance balls. That bite on the green also means that the ball will hook or slice with swing errors. Still, if you are confident with your irons, this ball is head and shoulders over the other balls on the market. Even with this priase, no ball is worth $4.50 per ball unles you are playing in a tournament or have a generous wager going. Wait out the hype and the prices should drop below the MSRP $54 per dozen Customer Service I e-mailed Titleist about the availability of this ball back in December and they responded within 1 hour.
